Chanel on play dates

Went to one of my regular play dates with my Ds, 3 yesterday and noticed again the number of beautiful Chanel bags, designer sandals etc etc. Lovely, down to earth mums, nice friends, but I’m just not in the same league with my Zara bag & trainers

Nobody seriously thinks a Chanel bag does the job of a nicely made bag any better than any other. Therefore the single reason to have one is the name.

You're overthinking this @Christmasadverthell, I have two mulberry's, expensive trainers, but I do the nursery run in my gym gear (I don't go to the gym), flip flops, and last nights hair and makeup.
This morning I had to walk home from nursery (not even nursery run, I dropped off another kids coat that nursery sent in my sons bag) in flip flops, a hoodie with nothing underneath, jeans and a face of yesterdays makeup. I'd heated up the car on the drive and came in with keys, went to car with coat and off i went. It was only when I parked up at nursery that I realised my keys were in the pit by the front door.

Honestly, I don't think any mum I've met in the city I live in cares where people are from, as long as they are a nice person with similar parenting styles you're all good for play dates.

I’ve got a Chanel bag and I wear it with my Primark teddy bear coat. I’ve got Louis Vuitton sneakers that I wear with my F&F jeggings (best fit out there).

The idea that rich people only wear expensive things is bonkers. I love a good rummage in Primark or TK Maxx. I shop in Zara, H&M and C&A. I also shop in Gucci, Hermes, Louis Vuitton and Chanel.

I think you can get them from those little free catalogues you get in the weekend papers! You know, rubber mats for the bathroom, cozy slippers, occasional tables and Chanel handbags

A bag is a bag. They all do the same job to carry your stuff in whether Chanel or primark! 🥰 it's about the person carrying the bag more than anything!

Could well be fakes. I have a very wealthy friend and she only buys fake designer handbags. She thinks it's a waste of money to buy the real deal when you can get a good quality fake for a fraction of the price. Having said that, her fake designer handbags still cost more than what I would buy a handbag for.

If people have money they have to use it for something.
We all like different things and have different priorities. I don’t get it when people spend loads on a car, but they might not understand why I like to spend on eating in nice restaurants. Someone might prioritise saving to the hilt for retirement while others would rather spend the money now. What does it matter

A bag is just a bag. I have posh bags but it doesn’t name me a posh person and I genuinely don’t notice other people’s bags. If these women like you then they like you. Don’t sweat it.

I hate that we all compare to others in all different kind of ways. I had to remove myself from Facebook cause I was sick of seeing things and thinking should I be doing this or why don’t I have that? It was really starting to affect me. Now I have what I have, I love and have designer bags but I live in primark clothes head to toe majority of the time, we should all stop caring about others lives it makes life so much simpler

Unless they display the designer bags and shoes especially for the playdates to show them off, I don't see a problem.

Probably fake. In certain Manchester suburbs they’re are frequent ‘girls nights in’ where someone turns up with a range of rip off designer accessories and sells for cash only. That’s the reason you’ll see so many designer bags on the school run
