Who would vote Tory and why?

OP posts:
WheelieBinPrincess · 20/10/2021 10:32

Everyone who did last time, depressingly.

x2boys · 20/10/2021 10:34

What's the alternative?

daimbarsatemydogsbone · 20/10/2021 10:35

Some people have weird reasons - last election I heard a vox pop and a woman was saying she voted Troy because nobody else stood a chance in her constituency - her logic absolutely floored me but what can you do?

Dancerinthedark01 · 20/10/2021 10:35

I’m not sure that’s true anymore. That’s why I started this thread. I’m curious to see.

No doubt I’ll be depressed reading replies though. We’ll see ...

Why don't you say who you would vote for and why Op?

TheGoogleMum · 20/10/2021 10:38

Hmm I wouldn't vote tory but I've gone off labour now too. Difficult:(

SoniaFouler · 20/10/2021 10:42

No. But I wouldn’t vote for any other party either.

Chakraleaf · 20/10/2021 10:43

No and never have but plenty do and always will

Dancerinthedark01 · 20/10/2021 10:44

I’d vote Labour as I have a fantastic Labour MP where I live now.

Soon to be moving though to a Tory constituency. I don’t like the Labour candidate there so would vote Green. Or maybe Labour to get the Tory out.

I’m a floating voter who would vote Tory, if for example Rory Stewart was leading the party and he got all the current corrupt lot out.

Why is it your business OP?

TheWhalrus · 20/10/2021 10:44

I must admit the opinion polls seem a bit strange. It's like the country is going to pieces and tory voters seem to want to retain the status quo regardless.

I'm afraid I cannot explain this phenomenon but would appreciate some insight (it can't all be the debate about trans people and safe spaces can it?).

Shade17 · 20/10/2021 10:45

I’m a lifelong Tory voter and there’s certainly no viable alternative currently!

Firstbornunicorn · 20/10/2021 10:46

Not a hope in hell would I ever vote Tory.

Labour don’t stand in my area. I’d vote Alliance or possibly SDLP/UUP.

Dancerinthedark01 · 20/10/2021 10:47

Why is it your business OP?

Because it affects my life and my kids’ futures. It affects every one of our lives here, if we live in the U.K.

It’s good to discuss these things? Is that a good enough reason?

OP posts:
pangolina · 20/10/2021 10:48

I'd vote Green like I always do

Well if Labour got their act together and stopped arguing over who has a cervix, maybe they would come across as more credible, plus there needs to be a massive shake up in the shadow cabinet There is no alternative for alot of people at the moment.
Iggly · 20/10/2021 10:48

To be honest I would vote Labour. The biggest difference we need is a change of leader and while I think Kier Starmer is just not sparky enough - look what we’ve got by people voting for Boris because of his personality?

If voting for boring Kier means that we get a bit of sensible, straight laced government then that’ll do me quite frankly.

Francescaisstressed · 20/10/2021 10:49

Green.

You know this is a public discussion forum, right?

Wouldn’t vote Tory and Labour have lost the plot at a time when they are needed the most . I think maybe Labour should split into 2 parties . No idea of who I would vote for .

StayAGhost · 20/10/2021 10:51

Sadly Labour have specifically stated that, as a woman, they do not want my vote

I'm leftish leaning, but would hold my nose a vote Tory because of this

Sexnotgender · 20/10/2021 10:52

I’m not sure I could bring myself to. But there’s no viable opposition. I’d likely spoil my ballot.

GCITC · 20/10/2021 10:52

I'd most likely spoil my ballot. Left wing politically homeless voter.

Yup. 100% the same.
DelilahDingleberry · 20/10/2021 10:54

I’d vote for Labour. My priority is getting the Tories out and Labour are the only ones who can do that. For me the situation is far too bad to be voting idealistically so it’s a “least worst” vote.
