Woman driving at protesters

ivykaty44 · 17/10/2021 15:43

The woman driving at protestors this week in the news, in a range rover that it turns out, isn’t taxed, hasn’t got a valid MOT & therefore insurance

Should have it impounded as she’s driving it illegally to take her son to school AIBU to think you can’t driving round illegally and then shout at protestors blocking the road - regardless of the rights or wrongs of the protestors or how annoying she may find them

OP posts:
Brainwave89 · 17/10/2021 15:46

Both are wrong. She should not be driving the illegally- police do seize such cars quite regularly. The protestors are wrong to be blocking roads, endangering lives whilst doing so on the very thin justification that the environmental emergency justifies such action.

BelleOfTheProvince · 17/10/2021 15:57

Everyone else is thinking it. Just because they are not trying to run over idiots doesn't mean they approve.

OnlyCans · 17/10/2021 16:12

Where did you read it wasn't taxed and MOT'd? Is it a fact?

bestcattoyintheworld · 17/10/2021 16:14

They should squash her car and squash the protesters whilst they're on Grin

Saucery · 17/10/2021 16:14

They are two separate issues. Whatever the penalty for an untaxed etc vehicle is, she should get it.
Do I blame her for driving at them? No. Their smug, comfortable middle-class faces as they leant against her car gave me the rage and I was only watching it on the news.

But no one should leave themselves open to criminal proceedings for these twats. That would make martyrs of them and they’d bloody love that.

OnlyCans · 17/10/2021 16:18

I've just googled the footage. You can't see the full number plate but as it's a 20 plate car it doesn't yet require an MOT so I'd say the rest of it is bullshit. Most likely a lease car and they take care of VED so I call bullshit.

billyt · 17/10/2021 16:20

'isn’t taxed, hasn’t got a valid MOT & therefore insurance'

No Mot does not mean no insurance....

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 17/10/2021 16:20

Oops! I wrote a while response then realised I had the wrong end of the stuck.

I thought you meant this woman, there have been a few other similar stories.

HowardNoir · 17/10/2021 16:24

I don't care who drives at them as long as it scares them off the roads.

Bumblenums1234 · 17/10/2021 16:26

Is a 20 plate? She doesn't need an MOT.

BananaPB · 17/10/2021 16:27

Both parties are in the wrong (unless it's a new car that doesn't need an MOT)

LoisWooookersonsLastNerve · 17/10/2021 16:28

I don't agree with what they're doing but obviously they can't just be run overShock

I don't see why their lives are more important than the ones in ambulances they are blocking. It's their choice to sit in the middle of the road.
Rainbowheart1 · 17/10/2021 16:36

I don’t agree sitting in the middle of a busy road is a sensible thing to do, the obvious reason being that you can get run over

Babdoc · 17/10/2021 16:41

Slightly at a tangent, but I think the Sunday Times cartoonist nailed it this morning:
Workman apologising to lady on her doorstep: “Sorry we can’t insulate your loft today. Our van is stuck on the M25!”

YeOldeTrout · 17/10/2021 16:43

Video I saw, was quite aggressive woman with large black car drive right up to press her car against the sitting protester's backs and then jump out & pull & push the non-resisting protesters aside. Cursing at them as she did and destroying their banner (very deliberately).

It was pure aggression. But probably doesn't count on MN because she's not a middle-aged man and their non-violent protest makes them "twats".

Saucery · 17/10/2021 16:53

They are deliberately setting out to cause death and distress. More than a bit twatty, really

phishy · 17/10/2021 17:10

YANU for not including a link, Google isn’t bringing anything up.

Why not just post a bloody link FFS.

Yes it does, in most cases.
SheWoreYellow · 17/10/2021 17:13

I mean, if it’s old enough to need one.

No, they're not. They're causing inconvenience. Which is what protests do.

Okay go out and murder them all for us. and be a national hero
Grin

If you don't want to run the risk of being run over, don't sit on the M25?
ABCeasyasdohrayme · 17/10/2021 17:16

Non violent protest? They have probably caused more harm than if they held a protest that turned violent. Someone paralysed, kids missing chemo, people losing job opportunities, people being unable to be with their sick and dying relatives. They absolutely are twats.

Whatever the situation with the woman and her car doesn't detract away from IB being utter cunts.

Exactly. I have no idea what the op is talking about, although I get the vibe that they are on the side of the protesters who ever they may be. Anti vaxx or ER or that other lot?

Will op be back now that at least one part of her op is wrong? The MOT. The rest is wrong too?
