Woman driving at protesters

The woman driving at protestors this week in the news, in a range rover that it turns out, isn’t taxed, hasn’t got a valid MOT & therefore insurance

Should have it impounded as she’s driving it illegally to take her son to school AIBU to think you can’t driving round illegally and then shout at protestors blocking the road - regardless of the rights or wrongs of the protestors or how annoying she may find them

Ufucoffee, my point is, if the road were 'legally ' blocked she would just find another way to school surely? She wouldn't drive her car through roadworks

Well my home is mid terrace single brick wall how da fuck is the government meant to insulate my home unless they build cavity walls meaning I'd lose inches of spaces in every room.

Same here and it's small enough that I won't be losing any more space! Nor will my gas boiler be being replaced either!

I wouldn't normally condone running someone over but I could make an exception for this bunch of hypocritical cockwombles!

Harmless game of chicken. They were deliberately trying to disrupt her day, she reacted. It's hard to have any sympathy with them when they could have avoided the whole thing.

There's a reason road closures are usually signposted with a bit of warning on the approach and alternative routes.

Our local HA has just done it on all its terraced and semi-detached properties in the area. Fitted solar panels too and air source or ground source heat pumps where they can.

All these things are possible.

Whilst their tactics are extreme, their point is not. We need to reduce energy demand in our housing stock as part of the need to decarbonise heating to combat climate change. We are seeing increasing levels of extreme weather events linked to climate change that are causing huge amounts of damage in this country through flooding.

I personally don't think high profile stunts like this achieve anything, but it doesn't excuse someone trying to deliberately harm someone else directly using their vehicle no matter how frustrated they are.

No. People will and are saying ffs sort these stupid arseholes out. Arrest them. Get them out of our way.

The awful thing is that we are making the planet uninhabitable for us and we are all fucked but these protests are pointless. People are pissed off at the protesters (understandably) and those who could make real changes won't because power and money today matters more to them than what will/may happen in the future.

As a species we are shit at giving up something now for what we're told will be benefits later. Even less so when we're told it's for future generations.

People are selfish and short sighted.

The truth is that nothing will change until the situation is so bad that change is no longer in our control. And we won't like those changes.

People don't generally 'find' ways around it.There are planned diversions which people follow. They don't get gridlock stuck because some idiot is lying down on the main motorway or a road they need to commute etc.

Doesn't matter if they're sitting, standing, or doing a little dance. When a pedestrian is in the road, drivers must give way and slow down / stop.
