14 year old actively trying to get pregnant

Hoping someone can give me some advice.
Sorry if it’s in the wrong place.

Has anyone had a 14 year old get pregnant?

My daughter behaviour has deteriorated since she met a boy 3 weeks ago.

To the point we now have social services involvement as she told the school I hit her on a regular basis (I don’t)

Had the police out every day last week as she was running away.

She is now actively trying to get pregnant.
Refusing to take the pill or morning after pill.

Does anyone know what happens if she gets pregnant? Can she move somewhere like a mother and baby unit?

Can she claim money?

I’m at my wits end and my mental health is really suffering.

I’ve tried talking to her about how hard it would be and that she should get her educations first, school have tried talking to her. She’s not listening.

Apparently this boys parents are actively encouraging it.

Social services or the police won’t help me. I can’t lock her up in the house as she shoves me and I have my 10 year old here.

I’m so lost and scared. Can anyone help?

You are doing an amazing job holding it together. Juggling all the day to day as well as attempting to keep your children safe.

Drastic action is my opinion.

Take a trip somewhere far and rural and then give her a pep talk. Remind her that social services will be removing her baby at birth as she is showing no signs of being mature or responsible.

Explain that the possible in laws might be hoping for this pregnancy to work because they are wanting a new home that comes with being pregnant. They will be dropping their son their for food and bed but they won't be helping with two hourly feeds. Also, there's a long list of people needing a roof over their heads and once social services remove her baby, she will be at the bottom of the list and will ultimately be on the streets.

Contact extended family that live a distance away, even those you've not been in touch with and ask if there's any chance you can both stay for a little while. Be up front and honest about your situation.

If your child is wanting to leave the house at 1am in the morning, you are not allowed to forcefully keep them inside. I had a runaway child, and I was warned that I wasn't allowed to do that. I had to let her go and report missing. I was told by both the police and children services. My child was 10 at the time.

More fool you.

God OP, this is hard.

I would get help immediately - mental health services via GP (or private if it’s an option) and also talk discreetly to the school, explain the situation and ask them to help a referral for mental health services.

If her behaviour has deteriorated recently it is likely mental health related - maybe a crisis, or even a condition that’s emerging in adolescence i.e Bipolar disorder.

I had school friends with similar behaviour at this age, diagnosed with bipolar disorder as adults, got pregnant on purpose at 15 (anecdotal obviously but illustrates the level of urgency and crisis).

When a child goes missing, that takes priority over almost everything else.
They would not ignore a phone call about a child being reported missing.

Well, that's not always correct. If a child goes missing regularly then it's a know pattern and won't be classed.as high risk.

To answe your other question OP, it's highly likely that your daughter would have her child removed by children's services (unless you or the other mother were deemed fit and willing to help your daughter take care of it).

Oh it's a Zombie.
Well OP, would you like to give an update.
Did things get better? Did she eventually get pregnant?

Zombie thread. All this was over ayear ago. Sigh.

JustLyra · 02/11/2022 09:37

Given your DD has had a recent head injury in her attack you need to find a way to get the GP to refer her for a scan.

Head injuries can cause unusual and violent behaviour.

JustLyra · 02/11/2022 09:38

Damn. Zombie thread

Onlyforcake · 02/11/2022 09:49

I'd be very soundly suggesting to SS that the parents actively encouraging a 13 and 14 year old to have sex and get pregnant are committing abuse and talk about restraining orders or something that foesnt cone from you. Sick bastards trying to control their lives in a permanent way gross

Bpdqueen · 02/11/2022 09:53

Have you taken her to the gp about long term contraception and mental health help

I know the thread as a whole is a zombie but I just want to say that I recognise every word of this. Unfortunately my brother never made it back to mainstream life. I sometimes wonder how things would have turned out if my parents hadn't listened to SS - the same SS that a few years ago told people that teenage victims of grooming gangs were making valid choices..

ittakes2 · 02/11/2022 09:54

I would take her to the shops to look at baby things and write a list of the prices.
then take her to a mother and baby unit (if appropriate for them) so she can see how they live.

TheChip · 11/10/2021 22:45

I was with you until you said the police aren't following up on a child being reported missing. Sorry, but nah...that's not happening.

Posts as ''dramatic'' as this one are often marked ''Deleted'' as fabricated.

This has that very same feel.

oakleaffy · 02/11/2022 09:59

Oh it's a bloody ZOMBIE!

Who resurrects these Zombie threads?

Beautiful3 · 02/11/2022 10:04

Honestly, this all sounds so hard. Think I'd take a massive step back, focus on the youngest and myself. If she assaulted me/child, I'd report her to the police every time. Then ask for her to be moved into a secure home. Tell social services that you don't want her living at home anymore because she's violent to the younger sibling.

Hi all - we're going to close this thread now as it's a zombie and we're not sure that the OP would want it back in active discussions.
