Hey everyone!!!
We had a scan last week Friday and it was confirmed it we are having twins!!! Currently 7w5days!
I've so overwhelmed with emotions; bouncing between being so scared about possible risks and overjoyed that after 3 years of infertility, a failed round of IVF, we have naturally conceived twins with no real history of twins in my family. In my case I honestly feel this is a miracle from God!
At present it seems babies share a sac but have separate placentas..
I believe this means they are identical but it seems that twins in the "format" is not the most common.. I may be wrong? Confused

I have entered the dark hole of google all the possible be risks with twin pregnancy plus having an increased BMI.
Not really a AIBU, posting here mainly for traffic but would love to hear positive twin pregnancy stories and could do with any advise or support!
Thank you all so much in advance!

Wow! I've always though twins would be such an amazing blessing but experiencing it myself I'm starting to think it will be hard work as well.. do you remember much about how many sacs and placentas there were.. did you have much more scans?

@OldEvilOwl @Honeypickle
Thank you both so much! So excited but so anxious, really hoping at some point I can stop worrying.
Infertility really changes your perception and I am struggling to enjoy good news

That’s so lovely, Congratulations. Twins are ace, hard work but great. I remember the first scan and finding out like it was yesterday and it was a long time ago.

It’s a higher risk pregnancy, but I felt well looked after. More scans than a singleton, consultant led, checkups, monitoring etc.

OurChristmasMiracle · 07/10/2021 17:29

Congratulations!!! They were clearly just keeping you waiting for 3 years to make sure their entrance will make a impact!

Good luck with your pregnancy

COL1N · 07/10/2021 17:30

Congratulations! 🥳

BigPyjamas · 07/10/2021 17:30

Wonderful news, wishing you a smooth and happy pregnancy.

As someone who has a close friend battling to conceive it is heartwarming to hear your lovely story

Level75 · 07/10/2021 17:30

I thought 2 placentas meant non-identical.

HumbugWhale · 07/10/2021 17:33

Congratulations! I have twins. They look after you really well with extra scans etc and appointments with a specialist midwife and consultant.
The Twins Trust have loads of information on their website and run webinars and things as well as a support line. I suggest looking there rather than Google!

SammyScrounge · 07/10/2021 17:35

That is so lovely! Enjoy!

Thank you soo much! Do you remember feeling quite worried early on? I am trying to gauge if my anxiousness is warranted as it's early days or should I relax? Lol I know it's not something that i can really be told but for some reason I've convinced myself that my chances of a miscarriage has doubled as it's twins.

I can't wait for for the scans and knowing there will be more will be so reassuring
