A whole new level of mansplaining

I am having treatment for cancer at the moment, it's hard going but I'm feeling pretty fine in between sessions. I'm wfh and pop into the office once a fortnight.
I went in quite early yesterday, first to arrive and was just settling down when a colleague came in. He quipped that I was up early and I replied that no hair makes showering quicker and laughed.
He put in a complaint that I'm not taking my cancer treatment seriously. An actual complaint. Poor HR had to ring me about it. He told them he is concerned that I don't understand the side effects.

How did HR respond? What did they say to the twat?

What? That's actually unbelievable. Does he seem normal generally?

People are fucking crazy!

He seems very normal and a bit under the radar. Gets his work done.
HR were very apologetic and it was awkward for them. We were laughing at the end but I was like wtf.

Christ, what a twat. HR shouldn't have even spoken to you about it actually. They should have told him to mind his own business.

You know, at the age of 40, I thought I'd heard everything. I honestly thought I'd heard all sexist, mansplaining, idiotic acts of men.

In regards to dealing with this fucknugget, I'm at a loss.

Why did HR tell you? Why didn’t they tell him to fuck off?

Put in a counter complaint that he is interfering in your personal health? That he doesn't understand the methods people use to deal with their own cancer treatment? That he has caused you unnecessary personal distress? Lay it on with a trowel.

He got another department to explain how I should feel and react according to him. I think that's under the heading of mansplaining.

I think Covid has made everyone a bit bonkers. I am sure you will have assessed all of this but do you think his concern could be about you catching something in the office ? We're due to return shortly and lots of people are less concerned about catching it themselves but more worries about how bad they would feel if they passed it on to others.

What are HR going to feedback to him? I hope they’re going to tell him to stop being a twat?

I would pretend it hadn’t happened in a frightfully English way, but I’d WANT to front up to him and say “how DARE you imply that you have ANY insight into MY body, my life, my illness? How fucking DARE you??”

Oh come on OP. You are not ‘fighting’ your cancer in the appropriate way.

HR shouldn’t have even given this the time of day to report back to you. I’m most surprised at that to be honest.

I'm not going to bother with a counter complaint. But I'm not going to make this a secret either.

Why didn’t HR tell him to do one?

Did HR maybe feel they wanted to check in with you that you're OK rather than follow up the complaint as a complaint. What a weird thing to complain about.

Oh my god! I would seriously consider putting in a complaint about him. What an appalling little dickhead.

Dear Lord, I'm so sorry that happened to you. Like you say, I'd be telling everyone. You've done nothing wrong, so no need to keeps it quiet.
