Accidentally filled up a full tank!

So annoyed with myself! I waited in the queue for ages, I was going to fill up £40 worth. Very hard to get hold of diesel, most places don't have it in my area except 2 petrol station.
There was a car infront of me so when I was filling up I couldn't see the screen where it would show how much is going in! I was trying to guess it and on top of that had my child in the car crying, not to mention the countless cars behind that are glaring!
To my horror I only went and filled up £70! I don't even need thAt much. Really annoyed with myself and hope I've not cost anyone to go without fuel!!

I think you've done the right thing. The queues are the problem not lack of fuel. If people just put a little but in they'll be back sooner making the whole thing worse.

Stop being ridiculous , you needed fuel so you’ve filled your car the same as everyone else . The only issue I can see is if you can’t afford it .

How can you not see how much is going in when there's a car in front of you? Where do you not have a screen right next to the pump?

The queues are causing a lack of fuel. Petrol stations aren't shutting because of a queue, they're shutting because they have no fuel left.

Well you do need it, just not urgently. It's not like it will be wasted unless you drive around trying to use up the extra £30 you put in!

Last time I filled up (pre-chaos) I let out an expletive when I saw £55 on the thingymagig.

What? This makes no sense. You wanted to only get half a tank so that you could queue again at a later date with a crying child and a load of stress? Of course you should have got a full tank. I wonder why you even own a car if you say you don’t need a full tank. How bizarre.

Fill up whatever you need / like. If you've got a full tank now, then you won't be joining or contributing to future queues for a while so it's no problem surely?
