To despise those that voted for Brexit when I’m doing my weekly shop

So little stock on the shelves. Makes the weekly shop a complete nightmare as you just cannot meal plan anymore.

I didn’t vote for this absolute shit storm.

Yep, I'm with you on this one OP.

Get ready for the flaming though....

toconclude · 19/09/2021 13:07

YABU to confine it to the weekly shop.

gibletjane · 19/09/2021 13:07

Well i'm not a fan of Brexit but my shelves have only been short of certain items eg I want bagels but they only have wraps or rolls. We still have a shit load of choice, I think we are quite spoiled tbh.

checkedcloth · 19/09/2021 13:07

I didn't vote for Brexit but there are no shortages at all here in the North West where I am and haven't been so far.

Wotwhywhen · 19/09/2021 13:10

People tried to warn others, but it got dismissed as project fear.
Bought into BoJos lies and Farages Garbages.

checkedcloth · 19/09/2021 13:10

If this was a case of swapping bagels for wraps then I can accept that. I am talking about either not having the item at all or only the very expensive version or ‘mega’ sized version available.

We are in Surrey - it’s being getting progressively worse week by week for us.

gibletjane · 19/09/2021 13:11

Well there are clearly regional differences. What were you unable to get hold of?

AlexaShutUp · 19/09/2021 13:11

Apparently the warnings of empty shelves were project fear, so it seems that I must be imagining the shortages in my local shops...

MoiraNotRuby · 19/09/2021 13:11

Yanbu, its needlessly rubbish. So much more expensive and unpredictable. I do click and collect, then go straight into the shop to get my own substitutions as I have to reorganise the meal plan. Such a monumental waste of time and money.

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 19/09/2021 13:11

YANBU at all, not even slightly

Teflondreams · 19/09/2021 13:12

@MapleMay11there are loads of shortages where I am in the N West. The local co ops are literally half empty and have been for weeks now and the fuel stations just over the border in N Wales are empty this week Shock.

girlmom21 · 19/09/2021 13:13

There are literally signs on shelves in our local Sainsbury's now saying "sorry, we're having trouble sourcing certain items right now". It's awful. I'm in the Midlands.

MoiraNotRuby · 19/09/2021 13:13

In the Midlands we have no normal size bottles of cooking oil. No limoncello. No part baked bread. No cheap sweets. Lots more but they are the ones that spring to mind.

OneTC · 19/09/2021 13:13

Been noticing the gaps more and more but think despise is a bit much

tobedtoMNandfart · 19/09/2021 13:14

We still eat like kings though, unlike the vast majority of humanity ...

ilovesooty · 19/09/2021 13:14

I despise anyone who voted for Brexit anyway. In fact I feel even more strongly about Brexiteers who continue to justify their choice.

Shopping availability is only one of the negative repercussions. Others are worse.

MrsPear · 19/09/2021 13:14

I bloody hate the people who voted for brexit and the worse thing is they are being rewarded by the government by being told they don’t have to pay for nowt and the taxpayer has their ni increased.

The shelves in Waitrose bridport in the summer were completely bare - no bread etc Bloody scum the lot of them. Destroyed this country and the future because they are racist, stupid and ignorant.

AlexaShutUp · 19/09/2021 13:14

I absolutely despise those who voted for Brexit. They have fucked this country over for the sake of their shitty blue passports.

lightand · 19/09/2021 13:15

Do you find despising people in general, helpful?

Teflondreams · 19/09/2021 13:15

Almost no fruit or veg…

Cactu · 19/09/2021 13:15

How is saying we’ve been spoiled and now we need to get used to things being shit a good argument for brexit or anything else?

AlexaShutUp · 19/09/2021 13:16

@lightand

Do you find despising people in general, helpful?
It is neither helpful nor unhelpful. It just is.
gibletjane · 19/09/2021 13:16

@Cactu you misunderstood I didn't vote for Brexit but I do think compared to many counties we are spoiled in the variety of food & cost of it.
