Have been pleading with him for weeks to go back, and he announces this tonight.

Sigh.

Arse!

IWasBornInAThunderstorm · 31/08/2021 21:14

Oh god. That's so unfair.

gamerchick · 31/08/2021 21:17

What a knob. Is it a don't want you to have the house to yourself thing, doesnt want to be alone in the house or doesn't want to be expected to do more housework thing?

This would irritate me a lot.

Knittingupastorm · 31/08/2021 21:18

Why have you been pleading with him to go back?

Karwomannghia · 31/08/2021 21:18

Textbook

JennaPenna · 31/08/2021 21:18

Selfish!

YourFinestPantaloons · 31/08/2021 21:20

Has he done this on purpose?!

KingdomScrolls · 31/08/2021 21:20

Maybe he's been WFH to see you more? No point now you're going back

tiredanddangerous · 31/08/2021 21:21

@Knittingupastorm

Why have you been pleading with him to go back?
Because it’s difficult to use a house as a family home when someone’s working in it. It pretty much kills any sort of visits from families and friends and means you have to Go Out a LOT, which is both exhausting and expensive.

MattyGroves · 31/08/2021 21:25

Oh is it you again with the can only socialize with the house to myself, every other option is unavailable and therefore my partner hates me thing again?

BobMortimersPetOwl · 31/08/2021 21:25

Has he been able to go back before? Are others back (I won't go into the office unless others are in as its a pointless journey!)? Has he said why he's decided to go back now?

Xyzzzzz · 31/08/2021 21:26

That would annoy me too Op.

BobMortimersPetOwl · 31/08/2021 21:26

Also, why can't you have anybody around? I WFH and my husband often socialises.

Pinknoises · 31/08/2021 21:37

Nope.

My partner doesn’t hate me at all.

However, if by ‘you again’ you mean that I have a partner working smack bang in the middle of the house and it’s a little bit difficult having any personal space or friends visiting as a result, then yes. It’s me Hmm

Bob, I guess for the same reason he probably wouldn’t go to the pub with his mates if I insisted on going with him and bringing my laptop and working on the next table I suppose.

To be honest, as soon as his office opened up and going back in became an option, I’d have gone about my day as normal and used it as a family home, as that’s what it is first and foremost. And if he found that inconvenient, he would have had another option - going back into the office.
I wouldn’t have done this when he had no other option because the office was closed.

Pinknoises · 31/08/2021 21:40

I don’t think he does find it inconvenient. It’s me who it was inconvenient for.

DoWhatYouWantToAndShh · 31/08/2021 21:46

He sounds like a tit

Could he have worked anywhere else in the house but chose the middle?

Pinknoises · 31/08/2021 21:49

He’s always worked there when WFH. It wasn’t really a problem until I was also off. Unfortunately, I’ve never been able to get him to see what a major PITA it is!

TheSmallAssassin · 31/08/2021 21:50

Oh, I do feel for you. I don't know why so many people have given you such a hard time on your other threads. I can totally understand your wanting to have at least a tiny bit of your maternity leave with the house to yourself. I went back to work as soon as I could because I needed time without my family - much as I love them, it is really good not having to consider them every bloody minute of the day.

Pinknoises · 31/08/2021 21:52

I think because a lot of people are thoroughly enjoying WFH, and don’t like to think that they are resented by their families Grin

OP posts:
moynomore · 31/08/2021 21:52

Why were you off though?

DoubleEx · 31/08/2021 21:53

I remember your other threads. Your husband was then, and remains now, a complete and utter twat. Sorry OP.

Pinknoises · 31/08/2021 21:54

I don’t think he’s a twat but I am most put out at this.

why were you off

I had a baby.
