To wonder how often you leave the house?

I walk my dog twice a day so leave the house twice per day everyday for about an hour each time. I also pop up my mum's once or twice a week for coffee. I tend to be out on both weekend days doing something or other. So I leave my house close to 20 times a week!

Every day. I have a dog, and children. I have a job. It’s pretty rare not to leave the house at all, for me. And for most people I know, I’d say - barring illness, disability or other extenuating circumstance.

For me that defo wouldn’t be normal! I leave twice a day for school runs for a start and then I probably leave home at least once a day in addition to this; yesterday I left the house 3 times for various reasons so I’d say I leave the house at least 20 times a week!

No definitely not normal, I can't imagine that is normal for many people at all? Why do you ask?

Depends entirely on circumstances. Perfectly normal for lots of people- elderly, working from home, etc. Not normal if you have a dog, work outside the home, etc. I WFH and have a chronic illness so not unusual for me to not leave home every day but I probably go out 3-5 times a week, even if sometimes just for a very short walk.

There's no such thing as normal but I'd have to be on my deathbed to only leave the house once a week.

There's no answer to this question anyway as it totally depends on the unique circumstances of each person. I'm not sure what you want posters to say.

Depends. I WFH and in the school holidays there's been a few days I haven't left the house while I've been working and DH has taken the kids out in the day. I do go to the gym every other evening to make sure I get out the house though. In term time, it's most days because I do the school run.

Since covid, my parents have become a lot more insular and don't go out much.

Once or twice a week for me. I'm still working from home, and I have PGP so it's currently difficult for me to do much.

I used to try and stay in one day a week before the pandemic, just so I had nothing to get up and dressed for.

I work full time so leave 5 days a week for that. I leave on my days off for shopping/visiting/activities. And I take the kids out most evenings to various places.
Leaving the house and locking the door behind me happens at least 20 times a week.

I'm in and out about 10 times a day so no that's not normal for me. I'm often home in between clients then out again after work (shops/football/gym etc).

I couldn't tell you the last day I didn't leave the house. Probably when I was told to isolate a few months back.

I have a young DS though, he's a ball of energy so needs to run about to let off steam. In my former life I quite enjoyed a day in.

Not for me. I work out of the home so leave the house daily for work. At the weekends I go out every day too as I find staying at home all day boring. Just depends what you enjoy.

2 or 3 times a week for me at the moment. I can't bear people everywhere and I'm wfh mostly. Quite happy with that, it suits me, don't care what others think!

It was normal for me over the winter, during lockdown.
I am still WFH and back when the gym was closed I went out only once a week and that was to do a food shop. By the time I finished work it was too dark, and often wet to go for a walk or anything.

I go out more now, but still WFH so not as often as some.

I wfh a lot of the time but also have an office. I go out to see friends several times a week and I'm out and about doing other stuff too

Well my dog needs walking twice a day, so that wouldn'twork for me! Also most people presumably go to work (unless unemployed or still WFH). I very rarely have a day where I don't leave the house at all tbh.

I wouldn’t say it’s normal but then, really, normal is very hard to quantify for anything.
Personally, at a bare minimum on a day off, three times a day. First thing mooch with the dog, loop of the farm with the dog and to check stock, evening walk with, you guessed it, the dog
Realistically tho, I work three days a week and do something with friends or family at least two other days a week, so I leave the farm at least five days out of seven.

I work from home and do yoga/online spin class at home. No dogs to walk (though I hope to change that soon). So yes 1-2 times per week would be within the range of normal, though usually I get out more than that.

I’m hardly at home! I have 2 dogs, 3 horse, run, work out of the house and have kids so I’m out at least 3 times a day. I can’t remember the last time I didn’t leave the house for a day. Are you worried you’re becoming insular? Normal is different for everyone but I don’t feel well if I’m in inside all day I need fresh air.

I go out maybe once a month at the moment. I work from home, DH is in and out of the office so does all the errands while he's out. It's definitely not normal for most people but I'm happy.

Not here. I would say twice a day minimum, even if it’s just a walk locally. I have a toddler who needs wearing out like a dog.
