My life rules

Things life has taught me

  1. Never never never eat white bread, or feed it to children, it just changes to sugar in your body, it is poison!
  1. Never never never support slave based industry, eg cannabis, clothing made with child labour, UNNESSESARY TECH UPGRADES, like replacing perfectly good working phones for no reason
  1. I'm sure I will think of more. Not much point in going into the environmental ones, like limit meat and diary, and never eat fish, don't drink bottled water etc, much debated elsewhere on Mumsnet

What are yours?

  1. Don't have rules.
  2. If you have some rules, don't preach them to others.
  3. Develop resilience and humility when you inevitably break Rule 2 and it backfires.
Unmute · 12/08/2021 09:28

Salted butter (the fancy kind with flakes of sea salt) on white toast sprinkled with sugar is a standard late night snack here.

The biggest “slave”, human trafficking, based industry is farming vegetables and fruit though.

Being anti-plastic, meant the over production of metal alternatives like straws, when sourcing and manufacturing metal is more damaging to environment and people near sources.

That’s the thing with hard rules, they don’t scale up.

Be kind

RhinestoneCowgirl · 12/08/2021 09:34
  1. Never drink a blue drink
  2. No bare bums on the sofa

Eating white bread does seem like a waste of time when you could just go straight to the good stuff.
FourTeaFallOut · 12/08/2021 09:35

#BeKind is meaningless without #BeTruthful #BeFair and #BeReasonable.

intothewoodss · 12/08/2021 09:37

Sitting reading this eating Warburtons toastie bread with jam. Delicious.

  1. Try not to be a twat on the internet.
  1. Keep your nose out of what other people eat. See rule 1.
  1. Don't demonise food with histrionic statements such as 'poison' when even water can kill if consumed to excess. See rule 1. And rule 2.
FastFood · 12/08/2021 09:38
  • Don't snooze your alarm.
It's useless, no one feels refreshed after those 5 extra minutes. You just feel more stressed because now you're late.
  • Reduce decision friction in the morning
The reason why we love routine in the morning is because decision takes a LOT of brain power. And routines are a way to avoid making decisions.
Manzanilla55 · 12/08/2021 09:39

If you avoid fish and limit meat what do you eat.

ComeonJulia · 12/08/2021 09:39
  1. Remember that white bread is better for young children than brown bread as brown makes them feel full even if they aren’t.
  1. Don’t be a dick.
Creamcrackersandricecakes · 12/08/2021 09:41

I LOVE white bread. Nothing like a lovely toasted slice of Hovis thick cut. I'm 47 and perfectly healthy.
I also love blue drinks, (WKD, Gatorade, anything blue raspberry flavoured). There's clearly no hope for me.

StarryStarrySocks · 12/08/2021 09:41
  1. All bread is good bread.
  2. Don't listen to anyone else's stupid rules.
Lumpwoody · 12/08/2021 09:41

White bread is poison 😂😂

Try not to scaremonger and over dramatise unnecessarily.
