My life rules

Things life has taught me

  1. Never never never eat white bread, or feed it to children, it just changes to sugar in your body, it is poison!
  1. Never never never support slave based industry, eg cannabis, clothing made with child labour, UNNESSESARY TECH UPGRADES, like replacing perfectly good working phones for no reason
  1. I'm sure I will think of more. Not much point in going into the environmental ones, like limit meat and diary, and never eat fish, don't drink bottled water etc, much debated elsewhere on Mumsnet

What are yours?

Rules are for other people.

AdaColeman · 12/08/2021 10:11
  1. Ignore all rules made by other people.
  2. Never try to catch a falling knife.
  3. Never run out of gin or chocolate.
CornedBeef451 · 12/08/2021 10:11

@RhinestoneCowgirl we have the bum rule too! If you want to sit on the furniture you must wear pants!

I had to do something when both DCs went through a bit of a nudist phase.

  1. Nothing is better than getting in from a difficult work day, on a rainy evening, and curling up with a plate of buttery white toast.
  1. If you come to Cornwall and don’t eat try our seafood, you’re basically a criminal.
  1. It’s none of my business if other people want to buy an iPhone.

1 Make the plan
2 Execute the plan
3 Prepare for the plan to go off the rails……
4 Throw away the plan.

Since when did the local cannabis farms use children as slaves? HmmYABU. To much conspiracies on the internet...

1) no bare bums on the sofa 2) you wake her, you take her (the baby)
Think that’s the end of the debate right there.

Live your best life and do what works for you and let others do the same.

BeenAsFarAsMercyAndGrand · 12/08/2021 10:15

@ComeonJulia

1. Remember that white bread is better for young children than brown bread as brown makes them feel full even if they aren’t.
  1. Don’t be a dick.
I don't agree with the OP, but this is complete and utter bollocks!

My rule is to not waste time and effort doing optional things that I don't enjoy; or doing things for/with people I don't really like. It's surprising how many people waste their time and effort doing things that they get no happiness from, and then complain about it!

(Aside from essential stuff like work etc.)

Cannabis farms are often run on slave labour - I thought this was well known? Often immigrants who don't speak the language and/or have had their passports taken away.

Not necessarily children (although I don't doubt there are some), but using any humans as slaves is wrong in my book.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 12/08/2021 10:16

I thought this was going to be "My life rules OK".

I was there for that.

I am not here for this.

takealettermsjones · 12/08/2021 10:17

I'm generally in agreement on the conspiracy front, but forced labour, some of it child labour, absolutely is used on some cannabis farms and has been for some time.

Never get involved in a land war in Asia

@Hilda40 is the reason mumsnet needs a comment ‘like’ function!
