How long did it take for you to be on 'farting' terms with your DPs

This is not really an AIBU, but inspired by the hilarious 'he shat in the garden' thread.

My friend's daughter has been married for seven years...child-free..but her and her DH have never farted in each other's hearing. Nope. They discreetly remove themselves to the loo.

I cannot believe this.

Married 12 years. We never do.
I Think it is disgusting and respectless. We also go to the bathroom alone.
It would kill any sexual spark in me.

Married 21 years and still do everything to avoid it. I just think it's a bit gross.

In past relationships I haven’t and I can only remember one guy that did it around me once. For me it would put me off.

Hmm. We've been together 8 years. Peeing in front of each other is fine when needed, but anything bum-related (farts and poops) are definitely a private thing! Well not for DD, she loves a good fart Grin

Together 16 years and we don't fart in front of each other. People who fart and think it's hilarious are the absolute worst.

I’ve been with my chap 5 years and prob took me 3.5 to finally let go. I only do it in bed of a morning though Grin

Same here. Together 7 years with kids. Did fart and poo in front of previous DPs but current one made it clear from the off he would absolutely hate it...I've only ever heard him fart in his sleep.

About a month in! I let one go accidentally and my now DH was so relieved!
We're those gross people who find it funny but we don't do it in front of other people.
DH does a morning fanfare. Every morning. He just can't help himself 😆

I fart, holding it in causes me pain, so I really don't care who is about.
It's a natural bodily function.

I couldn't say how long it was before i farted in front of DH, within weeks i would imagine.

Didn't put him off!!

About a year in? Can't remember not if I am honest. Though it isn't a constant thing. We're not very windy.

All those saying you never do, you do know pretty much everyone farts in their sleep?

3.5 years with current DP, I mean if I can avoid it I do, but there's no shame in it. He does in front of me regularly. Don't care.

We don't? It's a natural body process. We treat it like we would a sneeze. No reaction

Been together for 30 years, and still both try and refrain from farting in front of each other if possible. I really don't see it as a sign of true intimacy at all.

I was previously married for 14 yrs (together for 16yrs) and we farted in front of each after a year or so. It’s hard to find that sexy though! Have been with my current DP for 2.5yrs and we never have and have agreed to never start. We don’t use the bathroom in front of each other either (conscious choice) and I absolutely prefer it. Nothing as unsexy as smelling your partners ass 😂

4 years and we don't fart wee or pop in front of each other! It'd put me off and we both prefer it this way, don't judge those who do though, each to their own 🤷‍♀️
