Not fucking nachos!!!!

In brief, I ordered a side of nachos to go with my dinner. I'm bitterly disappointed. Before I share what arrived, what would the world of Mumsnet expect to receive? (Pretty sure IANBU to say that these are NOT nachos!!!!)

A huge plate of triangle corn "crisps" covered in cheese, tomato, chilli, sour cream, avocado and spring onions.

I love nachos.
Guacamole, salsa, sour cream, grated cheese - these are the minimum requirements.
Extra points for jalapeños, chilli con carne or sweetcorn.

I’d expect lovely tortilla chips with some form of mince/bean/salsa topping, melted cheese (the more the better) and some guacamole or sour cream.

But I’m betting yours looked more like potato chips, ketchup, cheese slices and nothing melted?

I’d want tortilla chips with melted / grilled cheese, guacamole, salsa, sour cream and a sprinkling of coriander.

I bloody love nachos. Obviously tortilla chips covered in melted cheese, salsa, guacamole, soured cream.

God, yes, jalapeños also mandatory.

The cheese needs to be layered in the tortilla chips, not just on the top ones… this is every restaurants mistake!

Have you got a picture? Ugh, this is bringing back memories of a plate of ‘nachos’ we had at a caravan park once. Tortilla chips, covered in squirty cheese sauce and ketchup. I think it’s the only food thats ever made me feel sick!

I'm guessing you got some tortilla crisps with a pitiful amount of cheese I once had something similar also described as nachos I felt very misled!

Nachos falls into the 'I can make them better myself so rarely order them in restaurants' category for me.

Yes to the never layering of cheese, what is up with that?!
