Not fucking nachos!!!!

In brief, I ordered a side of nachos to go with my dinner. I'm bitterly disappointed. Before I share what arrived, what would the world of Mumsnet expect to receive? (Pretty sure IANBU to say that these are NOT nachos!!!!)

At the very least:

tortilla chips with salsa, sour cream and melted cheese

I would also want guacamole with them but I know some places do them without 😢

Was it a takeaway because they look like they are on a rug?

What does cheese say when it looks in the mirror?

God I want nachos now... totally agree they need layered cheese.

Friend of mine had an appalling DH. Literally his only good point was he made fantastic nachos. Homemade guacamole, chilli, refried beans, sour cream, jalapeños, perfect amounts of cheese....

Shame he was such a fucking twat in all other ways.

That is the saddest thing I've seen today, is it even a full bag of Doritos?
Nachos as a minimum have a bit of cheese! Was the rest of the meal as disappointing?

It was a side dish from a take away (the mauve fluff is my living room rug where they've been dumped with disgust while we got the rest of dinner out of the packaging).

They were £2.50 (as opposed to the 80p they charge for a bag of Doritos in the snack section). The menu said 'Nachos' with no further description.

I'll be mentioning the misleading description in the review...

Don't say nachos if it's just crisps! Just say it's crisps!!

The best bit of nachos is all the crap that's slopped on top.

And jalapeños if you're feeling fancy.

I'm glad it's not just me that finds these distinctly lacking! It's the first take away we've had in ages. The rest of it is okay. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about (aside from the "nachos"). It's a new-ish place. I just won't order again. I'll not pretend that I'm not a little heartbroken though.

Nachos on a menu means salsa, it means cheese, it means jalalpenos, it means sour cream and it means lots more cheese.

I would march down there and moon at them.

That’s just a bag of crisps. I’d be highly disappointed. At the minimum there needs to be proper cheese, salsa, sour cream, guacamole and jalapeños.

Even cinema nachos are better than that.

At least you received your food. We ordered a takeaway recently and the new delivery driver absconded with it and was never seen again.

DP has added grated cheese and is eating them. Apparently I'm overreacting. I may have to LTB!!!

The cheese needs to be layered in the tortilla chips, not just on the top ones… this is every restaurants mistake!

Teen DS works for a busy take-away... occasionally has stories about daft things his teen coworkers do. Unpleasantly lumpy gravy making featured... I imagine this was a mistake, OP. Hope so, anyway.

Dd would be livid, also howling and sobbing etc as she only likes the toppings, not the actual crisps.

Definitely grounds to leave him OP. It must be quite traumatic to find out what sort of person he really is. Have some instead, it won't disappoint you like your nachos or your not so DP.
