Had a Tom Cruise film on in the background today as I was packing for holiday. It was Collateral on Netflix. It got me thinking about how amazing he was.

When I was a kid in the 80s he was the biggest movie star in the world. He has an amazing legacy that is somewhat tarnished by his association with Scientology.

I loved Cocktail as a kid. How can a genuine movie star just loose a big chunk of their reputation, was it the couch jumping I wonder….the lack of people around him who tell him the truth? I wonder if he sees his daughter?

He was amazing though, I’m not bu about that 😀

So was she really devastated about her and Tom breaking up? Because I always thought she was pretty happy about it?

She has given lots of interviews about the marriage. It's worth reading them. She was clearly devastated for many years. I don't know why she was photographed looking like she was happy about it. perhaps she was trying to look like she didn't care at the time.

Aw just read a bit and do feel sorry for her. sounds like she had no clue and also after divorce there seems to be a bit of parental alienation going on.

I've never believed any of NK's sob stories. I think her marriage to TC was one of convenience and just like her 'woe is me' interviews, her leaving her lawyer's office in such a provocative way after the divorce was finalised in 2001 was stage managed and done to gain sympathy. She is her own best publicist.

He was fantastic in Rainman,proved he was a good actor. But I think he's too interested in money hence all the blockbusters. He doesn't see Suri because she's not in the cult.

If you read the transcript of the tapped phone conversation he Sounds desperate to okease her and placate her. She sounds very demanding and a bit of a butch to be honest. She’s fuming that he’s not sending her flowers all the time and making her the focus of all his attention.

Just googled that and according to former Scientologist & aid to Miscavige, Marty Rathbun, who contributed to the documentary on “Going Clear: Scientology & The Prison of Belief,” it was Tom who suggested to Miscavige to tap NK's calls. Scientology weren't keen on the relationship.

This is a rough one for me, I worked with Tom cruise for 3 months.

Now everything everyone is saying is absolutely true - I have worked with a lot of actors and he is lovely to the staff - my daughter was with me for some of the days and he was lovely with her.

The only thing I can’t get over it the Fact he doesn’t see his daughter because of his cult.

What would he have to gain from that? Him pleading with her and her being very stony with him.

Not saying he leaked it I'm saying that allegedly he was the one who suggested taping her calls. Scientology were apparently concerned about her.

Don’t know much about him IRL but in Rain Man and Risky Business (both pretty old movies now) his acting was terrific, I thought.

He knows he's taping her, he acts lovely, she's used to a different side to him, so she replies coldly. I know my ex acted/acts differently when others were around, but I got to the stage of Ice Queen with him.

Not saying that that's it, just that some people do put an act on.

It's a really shitty thing to record your calls to your wife like that though, unless it was hacked a la News of the World.

It was actually wry comment - not that she literally found that he was specifically taping her calls but that she found out he was a lizard Scientologist weirdo.
