… to ask why Giles Coren hasn’t been cancelled yet?

The vile Dawn Foster tweets ffs. But he seems Teflon coated. He will never be cancelled. Three fucking columns a week … a pissing radio show, albeit on Times Radio, which surely no one listens to. I would love to be proved wrong. Absolutely love to be.

What do you mean by people like him? Because it’s reading as if you mean “Jews”.

Honestly it's a cess pit

Loads of people from all sorts of professions have to use Twitter for work! It’s not just a leisure activity for people who enjoy getting outraged. Which I don’t. I didn’t check his feed & I don’t follow the obnoxious little toe rag; someone else had screenshotted the tweets. I have this weird thing called ‘curiosity’.

Anyway, I’ll let you get on with your late night activity of feeling morally superior on an internet forum!

I've always thought of him as an incrediby fucked up spiteful man.

Have any of you actually read his columns? First thing I turn to in the Times to be honest, very funny usually. His thing is to be controversial and take jokes to the absolute extreme (you’re not meant to take every word seriously). I’m sure he IS a bit of a twat, that’s kind of his thing. But if he was really as talentless as Mumsnet would have it and no one read his columns/watched his telly programmes, he wouldn’t still have a career, whoever his father was. Can’t really comment on his tweets as I’ve never read one.

Hardly established upper middle class. His dad made enough wedge to send him to a half decent (non boarding) private school, just like many second gen immigrants do.

yeah. and he's also the privately educated son of a man who was a famous satirist and BBC TV panellist. Just coincidence that Giles and Victoria now also have media careers. Nepotism definitely isn't a thing.

The UK is nepotistic. How many MPs employ a spouse? Why is Lily Collins now a famous actress? Why has Caitlin Moran's teen daughter's band been given so much publicity?

Nope. I may come across as being unbelievably thick, but I didn't even clock the fact that he's Jewish.

'People like him' - arrogant, nasty, vicious, bullying arseholes, with a chip on their shoulder. Quite often male, but not always. See also AA Gill, Jeremy Clarkson, Sarah Vine, Ricky Gervais, etc.

Not sure how saying 'HA HA HA HA HA HA' in reaction to the death of a woman in her 30s qualifies as 'a dark sense of humour' though? I just think it tells me that he's an appalling human being.

He his disgusting. I used to enjoy back in time for dinner. The way he writes about his daughter, and looking at her 'plump lips while she drinks a coke...possibly the sexiest holiday I've had'
