Surely you would have cameras in a Government building and surely pointing it at doorways between different areas or departments isn't a bad idea.

Interestingly MH grew up near me and his Dad left his mum for another woman, who he married, when MH was very young. This is probably normal for him!

@lemonwoe the general public breaking a few rules is very different to a government minister who is making the rules breaking them....when people can't say goodbye to dying loved ones, then to see him with his tongue down someone's throat..how disrespectful n insulting is that? He can go have 10 affairs no one cares, but really see it in context.

Gove is rumoured to have had gay affairs I believe? Diane Abbott has also been dropping huge hints on social media about it and I can’t say I blame her given how the Tory press have treated her.

There have been photos of the camera in the office this morning. MI5 have stated that it's a police matter (i.e. not a security matter for them).

Many cheaters get arrogant and careless and end up with the entire office knowing. Hancock's just bog standard in that respect.

Mrs Hancock would obviously know her husband's Uni 'friend' had started working with him, I think she was taken on in December 2020? The marriage could well have been imploding before all this grubby footage came to light.

I ha want etched the video which bvs is embedded in loads of online new stories. Feel it would just be excruciating and I would never be be to unsee it. Has anyone watched and managed to carry on a halfway normal life ?

I also think it's highly unlikely Hancock's wife didn't know. They could have had an arrangement, which obviously couldn't continue after this. This could even have been deliberate on the part of one or both of them to bring things to a head. Although what a way to go!

Yeah. No way has this only been going on for a few weeks. A journalist tweeted a video of him and Gina at an event together from December 2019 where you see him tap her arm and they leave together, the journalist wondered who she was and assumed she was his wife.

But honestly there needs to be huge inquiry into all this "nepotism", not just MH but all of them including Dido Harding and Dominic Cummings

Why has Mrs Hancock been publicly humiliated? She has done nothing wrong, I think we need to move away from the narrative that if your husband can't control his cock then the innocent party is humiliated.
Humiliation is MH behaviour in front of those cameras.

Don't know about anyone else but I keep thinking of that poor family who had to let their 13 year old son die alone...... They respected those rules with such dignity it broke my heart.

It's just occurred to me - did Hancock have both a financial and personal interest to extend lockdown and then restrictions? I wonder what Whitty and Valance have to say, did they agree with him, or did they have concerns?

It's extremely stark that Hancock's mates were getting rich off covid and he was getting his end away and this set Hancock up for doantions to campaigns and then mate's jobs when he eventually left politics (see: David Cameron).

Did Hancock extend restrictions unnecessarily? That's a question which should be asked.

There must be an inquiry, or it must become part of the official inquiry into the Covid Pandemic and how it was handled. His not giving correct info at the right time before the debate on extending partial lockdown pass June - my brain is mushy I forget the details - is highly suspect in hindsight.

I think cock up (excuse that please) is far more likely than conspiracy. One version is that it was normal security cctv, being pointed at a door is logical, and a disgruntled member of staff got hold of the footage and decided to act as whistleblower and release it. Having worked in the public sector that always seemed the most likely explanation to me.

Cock up it is, he hasn't got the sense to realise that the camera would film him and be far more useful to think of that than peering round the door.

The whole saga is a very salutary lesson showing how one's fortunes can change so completely in 48 hours.

I wouldn't say most.We were extremely compliant at first. Those of us who did may have done so by accident since we never knew which was law and which was advice with rules changing every five minutes.

The people writing the laws can't use that excuse.
