To buy a second pair of my 'happy shoes'

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 11/06/2021 11:15

I bought a pair of shoes a few weeks ago and I just love them. WIBU to buy a second pair so that when these inevitably break I have a backup? They weren't expensive so that isn't an issue

Why not?

Lockheart · 11/06/2021 11:19

Buy whatever you like, why do you think that would be unreasonable?

the80sweregreat · 11/06/2021 11:19

Go for it

MedusasBadHairDay · 11/06/2021 11:19

Sounds like a great idea

Fe2O3Girl · 11/06/2021 11:19

YANBU. It’s an excellent idea.

FuckyouCovid21 · 11/06/2021 11:20

You would so not BU to do this, I know they've been slated on here before but I found a cracking pair of Fitflop sandals that I bought for holidays, they were the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn so when I got back from hols, I ended up buying another 2 pairs! The first pair is still going strong 4 years later

Cocomarine · 11/06/2021 11:20

No, you really shouldn’t ever do this.

FishintheStream · 11/06/2021 11:20

Very sensible. In fact, if you wear them everyday, you should alternate the two pairs, so they have time to dry out (sorry, ugh!) and relax between wears, which makes them last longer. This is usually said regarding men's leather shoes, but I don't see why it isn't the case for women's shoes and shoe's made from other materials too.

StarryStarrySocks · 11/06/2021 11:20

This is extremely sensible, go for it! Wish I'd done that with a few things over the years. (Moment of silence for my favourite dressing gown Sad)

FourTeaFallOut · 11/06/2021 11:21

Do it.

I just paid a ridiculous amount to replace a pair of broken sandals which I bought for a fraction in the sales about 6 years ago. But I love them.

FizzyPink · 11/06/2021 11:21

Gosh there’s so many pairs of shoes I look back at in photos and wish I’d bought a second pair. Definitely do it

imsureineverdo · 11/06/2021 11:21

Do it, doubt you’ll regret it!

PaperMonster · 11/06/2021 11:23

Definitely do it. I’m so glad that I did this for my daughter- two pairs in the same size and a pair in the next size up.

ElizabethTudor · 11/06/2021 11:23

Defo do this.

Watchingyou2sleezes · 11/06/2021 11:25

Why is this even a post, want them?
Can afford them?
Just buy the damn things

AnnaSW1 · 11/06/2021 11:27

I always do this

LookItsMeAgain · 11/06/2021 11:29

YANBU to buy a second pair but YABVU to not share with us what these shoes look like! Smile

Laiste · 11/06/2021 11:30

Oh i was going to say the same thing!

The Fitflop Tia. It's the only item of clothing i've every bought four more than one colour of Grin

And yes, my first pair is still going strong after 4 summers of hard wear too. Daily school run, shelping up beaches, rockpooling, everything!

BogRollBOGOF · 11/06/2021 11:31

My friends laugh because they know for a special occasion what style shoes I'll be wearing, it's just I have a few similar pairs in different colours. It's THE style that works for my awkward feet and it's not worth deviating from that.

Runners appreciate the joy of a succession of the same trainers that works for them.

trunumber · 11/06/2021 11:31

Buy them but also tell us what they are

whoops sorry wrong thread Grin

ElderMillennial · 11/06/2021 11:32

You should if you want to but I've done this before with different items and then ended up not using them any more

funktion · 11/06/2021 11:38

Buy a back up pair, I sometimes do this & wish I would have done it with many of my favourite things, as time goes on certain popular brands quality can deteriorate, they start using cheaper/different materials.

Blossomtoes · 11/06/2021 11:41

I do it all the time. I have three pairs of the same trainers in different colours and am on my sixth pair of Ash high tops - I live in fear they’ll stop making them!
