To buy a second pair of my 'happy shoes'

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 11/06/2021 11:15

I bought a pair of shoes a few weeks ago and I just love them. WIBU to buy a second pair so that when these inevitably break I have a backup? They weren't expensive so that isn't an issue

I always do this.

I have 2 of so many things. And I buy the same thing in different colours etc.

HopeHappy · 11/06/2021 12:42

Do it. I'm currently sitting here in the 2nd backup paid of sandals I bought from Clark's about 5 years ago. They're reaching the end of their life now and I'm gutted I didn't buy another pair or two!

youshouldbeplotting · 11/06/2021 12:42

If I find shoes (or anything else) that fit well and I really love I always buy more than one pair/item. I recently found some girlfriend jeans that fit me perfectly and so promptly bought two more pairs. I now don't have to worry about jeans for at least a couple of years, hopefully longer.

littlefireseverywhere · 11/06/2021 12:43

Oh yes, I do this. I find a pair I like then buy different colours etc

catmothertes1 · 11/06/2021 12:44

Buy them while the shop have have! They'll never have that style ever again and you'll kick yourself you did not get another pair.

Happycow · 11/06/2021 12:45

Do it! Ive started doing this with tops when i get one i love and is easy to wear 😁

Dollywilde · 11/06/2021 12:46

Do it. My feet are awkward AF and I wear Clarks Hamble Oak brogues to work almost every single day. I have six pairs 🙈, two of each of black, tan and metallic.

2bazookas · 11/06/2021 12:46

DO IT.

When I find a shirt/ trousers/pants/bra/socks/sweater/shoes that are just perfect, I very often buy more than one. More patterns/ colour-ways, or just copies of the same classic.

An elderly friend in his declining years once said to me " Bazooka, you're one of the few people I still recognise and can remember the right name". Just as I was preening this compliment on my special uniqueness he added "because you're always wearing the same clothes".

MerryChristmasToYou · 11/06/2021 12:46

We need a photo or there are no happy shoes.

AramintaArrowsmith · 11/06/2021 12:47

oh this is me. I have "uniform" it makes life so much easier.

If I find I really like something I very often buy backups before they go out of stock. Shoes, blouses etc. I have eight of a certain Lands End shirt from two seasons back, which they no longer make (four still in the packaging).

LadyDanburysCane · 11/06/2021 12:50

Do it! I wish I’d done that with my favourite pair of sandals 😞

Woeismethischristmas · 11/06/2021 12:51

I do this as I’m fussy and when I find stuff I love I buy multiple pairs. I do the same for clothes. I’m not fashionable though so like to have enough to get me through the lean times when shops stock awful stuff.

earminted · 11/06/2021 12:52

I have 7 pairs of my favourite shoes in 3 different colours. I also have 4 pairs of my favourite boots. Works for me, I have tricky feet.

Come to think of it, I have multiples of everything I really like.

WettyHainthrop · 11/06/2021 12:52

Is this genuinely something you’ve agonised about OP? Confused

HelpMeh · 11/06/2021 12:53

I'm another one who doesn't understand why this is a question...

"Should I buy something that I like, will use and can easily afford?".

Well, yes. Why wouldn't you?

esterwin · 11/06/2021 13:00

I have three pairs of a particular shoe. I bought one pair and I love them. They look great and are ultra comfortable. So I bought two more pairs. Just as well I did as I found out they have changed the style and had to buy them in a shoe shop selling lots of ex-stock.
So yes buy them. You will regret it if you don't and they stop making them. It is really hard to get shoes you love.

Twinkie01 · 11/06/2021 13:00

God buy them yes, you can afford them and they make you happy. (I did buy 6 pairs of trainers that lasted me 3 years once as they were discontinued and I really liked them though so maybe I'm not the best judge of shoe happiness)

DifficultBloodyWoman · 11/06/2021 13:05

Unreasonable? It sounds eminently sensible!

Opal93 · 11/06/2021 13:05

I would go for it, although if it were me id probably buy the second pair in a different colour!

WhyMeLord · 11/06/2021 13:07

I have 4 of the same jumper (admittedly in 2 different colours but still 2 of each colour). The first one arrived and I tried it on and right there knew I never wanted to be without this jumper of dreams so I bought 3 more 😊

Roselilly36 · 11/06/2021 13:07

Definitely do it, you will regret it if you don’t.

Taikoo · 11/06/2021 13:08

Do it.

I hesitated about buying a shortish slip dress that I really wanted because it was a bit long and I wanted to wear it as a long top.
I bought it and had it taken up.
It's lovely now.

I'm so glad I bought it because the shop I got it in Mango closed just this week.

EL8888 · 11/06/2021 13:11

Do it! I often regret not buying a 2nd of items l really love
