Kids abandoned downstairs

I feel really so rough. Husband is away taking exams.
Bloated- so so sore
Abdo pain
Back ache
Fatigue
Muscle aches

I just can't be arsed. I've never been Bloated I'm my life until this week and now it's almost constant. A couple of weeks ago I was tested for thyroid issues as my periods are messed up and the tiredness and aching.

The kids pop up to say hi every so often and I've just chucked cereal at them. Please tell me this is ok? I have no local family

How old are the DCs?

MyDcAreMarvel · 06/06/2021 13:27

If they are over 5 yes hope you feel better soon.

legotruck · 06/06/2021 13:28

It depends on the age and ability of your children

Heartofstrings · 06/06/2021 13:28

3.5 and 4.5. I can hear them chatting. They've just made a woodlouse house in the garden

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/06/2021 13:28

How old are they and how many have you got?

Can’t you lie on the sofa so you can keep an eye on them?

ineedaholidaynow · 06/06/2021 13:28

Need to know how old DCs are? Do you have any local friends you can call on to help out?

Heartofstrings · 06/06/2021 13:28

I'm literally curled up on my bed in pain/discomfort

I would have laid on the sofa when mine were that age and no way would they be in the garden while I was in bed.

CoRhona · 06/06/2021 13:29

Go and lie on the sofa, they're too young to be left downstairs.

Heartofstrings · 06/06/2021 13:29

They jump on me when I'm on the sofa and earlier I was nearly sick when eldest put a toy on my tummy

Lie on the sofa

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/06/2021 13:29

You could curl up on the sofa. They’re very young.

If you’re too ill to care for them you need to tell your husband to come home. When’s he due back?

wildeverose · 06/06/2021 13:30

Go lie on the sofa - you can't leave kids downstairs that young all day.

Cheeseplantandpickle · 06/06/2021 13:30

Cross post.

Heartofstrings · 06/06/2021 13:31

Slightly freaking also as dh said it's enough symptoms to need to see a doctor asap. Some symptoms have been there a while, some new this week. The ones causing issues are the new ones. This last 2 days are particularly bad

OP posts:
Ohmych · 06/06/2021 13:31

That would be ok if you were downstairs on the sofa with them. I wouldn't trust kids of that age not to get into mischief.

Unanananana · 06/06/2021 13:32

You need to be down there with them as they are just too young to be left alone. Lie on the sofa. You can't leave them unsupervised in a garden.

Can your husband get home?

Opinion4321 · 06/06/2021 13:32

I’m sorry you feel ill but they are too young to be left unsupervised, especially outside.

Do you have a friend you could call? Or a member of DH’s family?

wildeverose · 06/06/2021 13:32

Tummy ache, and aches and pains aren't reason for a doctors ASAP - it sounds like a bug or a flu.
Either way - your small children still can't be left alone roaming the garden and house whilst you're in bed. If you're that poorly he needs to come home.

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/06/2021 13:33

When’s he coming back?

Kittykat93 · 06/06/2021 13:33

You can't leave kids that long downstairs unattended op. I know you're feeling like shit but if you're incapable of caring for them as you're too ill you need to arrange for someone to come and watch them

legotruck · 06/06/2021 13:33

@Heartofstrings

To be honest if you feel they are old enough to be left downstairs and in the garden unsupervised they must be old enough to understand not to touch you, never mind jump on you.

bathsh3ba · 06/06/2021 13:34

Too young to be out on their own in the garden, and probably too young to be on their own downstairs for longer than a very short period.

I've been there and just had to be ill on the sofa and use the TV as a babysitter.

Heartofstrings · 06/06/2021 13:35

Husband can't get home. He's in the middle of an exam as we speak.

I've tempted them to watch the telly in here with me. Good old fireman sam

I forget they're so little as they are quite self sufficient for their age.

MiaowMiaow99 · 06/06/2021 13:36

Well yes, you have abandoned them downstairs.
Too young to have the run of downstairs and the garden. Time to pull up your big girl pants on and get downstairs.
You can retreat back upstairs once DH is back.
