Guests bringing dog to stay

As a dog owner, if you were going to stay at someone’s house would you assume your dog would go to? Would that change if the house you were visiting also had their own dog?

DH and I disagree... need outside help please

I don't have a dog at the moment but would never assume and always ask. If my dog couldn't go then I'd politely decline. If I issue an invitation to a dog owner I always make it clear that canine family members are included.

Almost everyone I know would ask if they wanted to bring a dog. I know a few who wouldn't be able to come without their dog but they certainly wouldn't assume it was OK without checking.

As a none dog owner I wouldn't even think to mention the dog, I would've thought the people would assume it was just them invited and not their dog.

But at the same time if we were going away and sharing a house with them on holiday or something I would assume the dog was coming

What breed are they? I will be able to tell you if they will get along okay. I work with dogs.

You've lost the bloody plot. It's a very individual thing, not down to which breed it is.

Mine's a Jack Russell that hates German shepherds but is fine with Great Danes. You couldn't possibly conclude that all Jack Russells have the same tendencies.
