Why has the last thread been taken down with a ‘goady op’ message?
What’s so goady about asking why we can’t criticise the actions of Israel?
Don’t even give a shit this is a TAAT and will get zapped.

Palestine exists. Ethnic cleansing is happening. And every single thread gets taken down.

Only one person on that thread shouted anti semitism. Every one else was mostly in agreement about what is happening and it still gets zapped.

I’ll once again direct people to friends of al Aqsa on Instagram and Twitter in the hopes people see this and would like some real information.

Israel is an occupying oppressor committing genocide and the Palestinians are an oppressed people. There is no comparison in the force power and might of these two groups esp when one has the backing and funding of the US.

Not sure @Acidburn I have Israeli friends, but we vehemently disagree on some topics.
Israel is facing a barrage of international criticism and condemnation because of its extended, disproportionate military action against Gaza, which has highlighted the Israeli authorities appalling treatment of, and Apartheid against, the people in the OPTs.
That’s not anti Semitic ( there are plenty of ArB Israelis) and it’s not a ‘hatred’ of an entire country. It’s condemnation of policy. Which, if you are Israeli, I can imagine might be hard to stomach and make you feel defensive.

My Jewish friends ( outside of Israel) are divided but there are many, many of them who are ashamed of Israel’s actions right now.

All children matter. Why are you raising your children to carry on the conflict rather than asking your leader to find a solution?
You can see why the Palestinians resort to stone throwing; they have no power over Israel. You do.

I see grey too. I have a few friends and some in laws that are Jewish and don’t know anyone whose Arab let alone Palestinian . You would be really obtuse to not see the reality of the situation.

Massive protests going on in London and other cities. Hopefully pressure will soon bring both sides to the table and prevent anymore innocent lives being lost.

The Palestinians and neighbours have tried several times to do just that. Given the recent history of jews and that many Israelis lost family in the Holocaust and are surrounded by those who would wipe them out or erase Israel and have tried to and do openly say so - i think you are being a bit blasé as to how this affects many Israelis mindset.

They are paranoid with good reason and determined to protect their people - i also think they have been more open to some kind of peace than the Palestinians have

I wish British people would make it an aim to befriend a Palestinian. We are friendly people..

We have lived through multiple civilisations. We have lived alongside the most orthodox Neigbours of all 3 abrahamic religions. We intermarried. We interbred. We are ethnically diverse.

Arab is a linguistic identity, but we now speak English too. The ethnic part is too diverse to have a label.

There has been so much told about us, for 80 years without us being actually heard.

It would be nice for us to at least be acknowledged in our own story. Instead of have our history erased from history books.

I worry that my 80 year old grandad dies and my historic proof dies with him. Before it gets acknowledged.

Come and meet us, give us a chance to have our say on our own story.

Because THAT, might resolve some of the bias that has existed for decades. And might make us more open to trust the international communities.

Trust might get a conversation going.

It's a humanitarian and ethical crisis. Just Google the map of Palestine from 1948, then compare to now. I hope people are free to discuss it on here without being accused of anti-Semitism.

I’ve lived with and worked for Palestinians briefly in Jerusalem many years ago. They were lovely and i have a lot of sympathy for their situation - i also politely sat quietly as one (my employer) denied the Holocaust and their (understandable) hatred for the Israelis was spelt out.

Again - the Israelis are paranoid with good reason. The Palestinians feel the way the do also with good reason. It’s a mess

Ikeasucks, I think that it is simply the case that any Jew over the past ten centuries or so who did not expect the worst was probably a self-deceiver (unless he moved to another country, and quietly ceased to be Jewish, which isn't really an answer and didn't always work anyway). Or to put it another way, it's isn't paranoia when they are out to get you.

The trouble comes when that historically reasonable mindset is in the heads of people running one of the most well-armed nations in the world, who seem unable to tell an actual, viable threat from the posturing of people who are now let's be honest about this! in many ways as badly off as my people were in the Warsaw ghetto, and about as likely to be able to force a change of government on the people who have put them there.

I'm on the side of the Palestinians - they had their land taken away from them for the Jews.

The West needs to stop supporting Israel. Israel don’t have the rights to the land belonging to the Palestinians.
