I've gone to M & S and Sainsbury's this afternoon, and there are no Easter eggs left . Literally none at all. Why??

Easter has no meaning to me.

But we get an egg each.

DarkMatterA2Z · 05/04/2021 11:44

Wouldn’t normally bother, but yes bought 1 egg for the family to share. Which we did whilst watching a movie together.

How do you make sure everyone gets their fair share of the family egg? Do you carve it with a knife and measure the bits with a ruler?

I agree. I tried, 3 weeks running to get a Ferrero Rocher egg for my older dd and they never turned up with my deliveries. I had bought eggs for my other children weeks ago but ended up having to buy chocolates for the older one instead. By Saturday, our Waitrose had not one single egg left.

There was uproar on the local facebook page. On Saturday and Sunday a woman advertised that she had lots of eggs and would sell to anyone who couldnt get one, it then turns out she had been round and cleared Morrisons and Aldi out of their 99p eggs and was charging £5 each for an egg. From the outrage on the FB page i doubt she sold many as people were disgusted with her, mostly for buying all the eggs thus creating the shortage that she wanted to profit from.

What a cow. What’s wrong with people?
Beautiful3 · 05/04/2021 13:44

Friday/Saturday was interesting in our local facebook page. A few people posting how they were desperate to buy an egg. A few local people offered to sell one from their stash, which was nice to see. But
I genuinely don't understand this, if easter eggs are so important to people, then why leave it until 1/2 days before hand?!

I’d love to know how many she sold @ £5. I’d also love to know who would be so desperate for an egg on Easter Sunday that try’s be willing to buy one off some random FBer.

Soubriquet
"Happy zombie Jesus day!"
Wow that's so rude and offensive. I'm upset that you think that's okay to say on here. You think its okay to mock Jesus?! Jesus was tortured and killed. Easter is special to me, I love Jesus. Jesus loves everyone, even you.

I guess they weigh it out. How miserable 😓

MNHQ unbelievably thinks it’s ok. They obviously don’t think the zombie reference to Jesus rising from the dead is offensive. Just google pictures of ‘zombies’ and it’s clear to see why it’s an offensive thing to say.
SomethingOnce · 05/04/2021 14:11

It’s a bit crass and I wouldn’t be quite so juvenile myself, but I don’t think god needs anyone being offended on behalf of godself.

Obviously. Hmm

ODFOD.

Why you would immediately assume anything was miserable says quite a lot about you.

We generally prefer chocolate that has a decent amount of cacao in it, not the mainstream sugar/palm oil fest. So why you think there would be any more joy in 20 eggs than 1 in that scenario is a bit odd, isn’t it?

You sound delightful.

Beautiful3 · 05/04/2021 16:32

@CricketClub I agree with you.

ArcheryAnnie · 10/04/2021 17:55

Just FYI I have bought three large Thornton's eggs, a large Malteaser egg, and a shitload of bags of malteaser bunnies, cadburys minieggs, galaxy eggs, those Peter Rabbits, etc. There's still some on the shelves - tesco express. Paid £4 for the thorntons (includes a box of chocolates), £3 for the big Malteaster, and 50p and 25p for everything else.

(I'm not going to eat any of it, btw, as I am allergic to milk chocolate, but it's for my teenager, and for giving away.)

MercyBooth · 12/04/2021 02:02

Pistachio Caramel............strange but nice.
