I feel like itโ€™s ruined me for all other box sets ๐Ÿ˜ž

The UK one? The only thing funnier is Extras imo.

queenofthenorthwest · 29/03/2021 21:50

I think I'm going to re watch it.

Then rewatch peep show

Lochmorlich · 29/03/2021 21:50

Friday Night Dinner is funnier imo.
Although I love the stapler set in jelly!

MammaMiaWallace · 29/03/2021 21:52

Yanbu

OhWhyNot · 29/03/2021 21:54

Itโ€™s amusing

But many funnier comedies

You might like Curb Your Enthusiasm Ricky Gervais certainly influenced by CYE writer Larry David

ReverendRicketyCricket · 29/03/2021 21:56

Since The Office was about as funny as leprosy I can't see a problem here.

Veuvestar · 29/03/2021 21:57

The US one was very funny
The U.K. one, not so much. In fact not at all

NiceGerbil · 29/03/2021 21:59

UK one? Enjoyed it at the time.

I'd go hmmmm. Yes minister/ prime minister, peep show, toast of London... Loads!

Interesting just noticed they're all UK.

MichelleScarn · 29/03/2021 21:59

American or UK version?
Steve Carell is brilliant (user name is a nod!) But David Brent and Free Love on the Free Love Freeway... genius.

Yeah I thought Extras was funnier. Also Life's Too Short is hysterical in parts.

The Thick of It and One Foot in the Grave are funnier.

queenofthenorthwest · 29/03/2021 22:00

@CirqueDeMorgue I haven't seen extras is it good?

Spaceman1 · 29/03/2021 22:00

I found People Just Do Nothing funnier than The Office

Waxonwaxoff0 · 29/03/2021 22:00

It isn't funny.

NiceGerbil · 29/03/2021 22:01

In the office that lanky bloke who was a real lad and came in sometimes.

I know he was a grotesque image of the body boozy blokey sexist types you (used to) get but he made me feel physically sick. A bit too well done!

OhWhyNot · 29/03/2021 22:03

One Foot In The Grave is brilliant

Extras is very funny at times

I started watching it the other day, it had its moments but nothing special

I found the office excruciatingly embarrassing and uncomfortable - I was cringing on Brentโ€™s behalf and couldnโ€™t bring myself to laugh at him. He was such a sad pathetic person - I just felt sorry for him.

I don't think The Office has aged particularly well, but it was very influential. The whole mockumentary format of The Office and the Brentisms and deadpan delivery talking unfiltered nonsense to the camera. Sitcoms like PJDN wholly ripped off The Office. This Country the same.

Oh the one with the Northern accent! Absolutely repulsive, he does voice overs and I donโ€™t like hearing him even then!

Itโ€™s Hot Fuzz for me.

If Iโ€™m feeling down or Iโ€™m ill, itโ€™s the only thing I can watch, and then watch again immediately, because it makes me laugh so much.

whenthebellsring · 29/03/2021 22:06

Not sure why but I found both the US and the UK ones unfunny and too tedious to continue watching. Perhaps they picked up later but I couldn't finish the first or second episode(s).

Thatโ€™s the whole point. Itโ€™s that humour where you know if you were actually in it and you caught a co workers eye you would be screwed!

Extras was funny and I enjoyed it.
