Shopping in pyjamas

I know, this has been done to death, but just went to the supermarket and saw a full family out shopping in their pyjamas. It's the first time I've actually seen a fully grown adult out in a full set of pj's (dressing gown, pyjama top, pyjama bottoms, fluffy socks and sliders). More curious to know exactly why people find this so unacceptable, because essentially they are just clothes. For me it is just slovenly and lazy. But maybe I'm being too judgemental. Opinions?

Maybe it was a comic relief thing?

Candlesinthewind · 20/03/2021 18:59

And why not? Next step is just underwear? It’s no worse/better than a bikini/budgie smuggler on the beach.
And actually, they should burp and fart as they go - ffs it’s not illegal.
You are being very judgmental.
Get out there tomorrow in your jimjams - have a fart or two - stand in your power!

PandaFluff · 20/03/2021 19:01

Maybe a nice family outing for fun during the pandemic

LegAndSparkle · 20/03/2021 19:01

It's very strange isn't it. I don't see any people like pyjamas so much.

ThatsNotTheTeaHunty · 20/03/2021 19:05

I think it's actually gross.
You don't need to wear your pjs around the shop just like you wouldn't walk around in your underwear in the shop.

Pienmash · 20/03/2021 19:11

I hate it.

LunaNorth · 20/03/2021 19:13

It’s attention seeking.

Just put your clothes on to go to the shop, ffs. You’re not a free spirit just because we can all see you’re too special to get dressed.

PandaFluff · 20/03/2021 19:13

Maybe their house burnt down and that's all they have

LunaNorth · 20/03/2021 19:14

Must be a lot of houses burning down round here then.
Armi · 20/03/2021 19:14

I hate it, too. But then I’m one of those tiresome people who think you should only wear pyjamas when you’re in bed. I’m always fascinated by younger colleagues who leave work, go the gym to maintain their Olympic standards of fitness (when it’s open) then are in their pyjamas on the sofa from 6pm onwards, eating Pringles.

Frogartist · 20/03/2021 19:15

Because it makes your pyjamas dirty. I like my bed to stay clean.

Reinventinganna · 20/03/2021 19:15

I couldn’t even if I tried!

Stonerosie67 · 20/03/2021 19:15

I judge. I think it looks really chavvy and grubby.

GoneCrazy · 20/03/2021 19:16

Tramps

Reinventinganna · 20/03/2021 19:16

I don’t even wear pjs in bed!

Troublewaters2021 · 20/03/2021 19:16

Oh this is me some days.
Disabled complex 8 year old, a teen son and a baby. Work full time up to 60 hours a week. On the occasional night when I need to run them over to get bits last minute we are all in pyjamas apart from teen who doesn’t come 😂

CrotchetyQuaver · 20/03/2021 19:16

I would judge them...

Stonerosie67 · 20/03/2021 19:17

Maybe their house burnt down and that's all they have

You are joking, right???

Troublewaters2021 · 20/03/2021 19:17

I should add I don’t care about what others wear and don’t care what others think of what I wear

MyDcAreMarvel · 20/03/2021 19:18

@Armi why wouldn’t you want to be comfortable on your own couch?

Armi · 20/03/2021 19:18

Obviously.

You can be comfortable in clothes. You don’t need to get into your nightwear at 6pm!

HackAttack · 20/03/2021 19:19

Slovenly and lazy

Poor role modelling

GintyMcGinty · 20/03/2021 19:20

It is just slovenly and lazy

I completely agree
