No side effects with Astra Zeneca!

Dee2997 · 04/03/2021 13:18

Had AZ at the weekend. Was told side effects are very common!

Also I know a quite a few people who have had it and the vast majority have had side effects. Some feeling very ill.

I’ve not had a single side effect. I’m grateful I’m not feeling poorly but worry it’s not been as effective as it should be.

Literally everyone else I know who’s had it has had side effects.

Anyone else not had any side effects at all?

Half the staff in my school. We had it yesterday, half are fine, about 20 are off sick. I'm at work but feel like you do the day before flu. Just sort of cold and achey.

Nospringchickendipper · 04/03/2021 13:21

I had it about a week ago a sore arm at first but then no further symptoms.

DisappearingGirl · 04/03/2021 13:21

I didn't have any side effects either. Also my arm was barely sore at all (compared with annual flu vaccine where it's usually sore for 1 night).

Not doubting those who do have side effects! But worth bearing in mind that you may not get them.

20 off sick though, that's bad!!

Thank goodness that everyone who has covid is just sailing through then....Confused

I had it and had zero side effects, but most people I know had some side effects making them ill for about a day, some for a bit longer.

Poptart4 · 04/03/2021 13:22

Out of 125 care workers at my company who recieved the AstraZeneca vaccine only 9 had side effects. I myself felt absolutely fine afterwards.

I think we hear more about the people who suffer side effects than the ones who dont because bad news travels faster than good.

MrBullinaChinaShop · 04/03/2021 13:23

My mum didn’t have any side effects with the AZ vaccine.

happystory · 04/03/2021 13:25

That's not what the thread is about demelza

What the fuck has that got to do with the OP’s question?
Mumofsend · 04/03/2021 13:27

I had Az. Cant remember the last time I felt so unwell

Wendyhause · 04/03/2021 13:28

I had the AZ jab last week. No side effects at all. My neighbour had it a few weeks before me and she felt in her words "a bit rotten" for a couple of days afterwards.
I am due my second jab some time soon I assume but have not been given a date yet. Just slightly apprehensive in case my luck runs out and I feel unwell after the next needle but will get it done anyway.

0blio · 04/03/2021 13:29

I had none at all, not even a sore arm.

grandmasterstitch · 04/03/2021 13:32

I had it a couple of weeks ago and through the night had a pounding headache and painful joints and muscles. A couple of paracetamol at 6am did wonders and I was ok with regular paracetamol the next day. By the day after I was absolutely fine. Apparently the younger you are the more likely you are to have side effects

MuthaFunka61 · 04/03/2021 13:33

I've had the mother of all headaches for 2 days.
I'm still glad I've had the vaccine though

Kazziek · 04/03/2021 13:34

DH had just a little bit of a sore arm. DPs did not have any side effects at all.

Stratfordplace · 04/03/2021 13:35

You are fortunate, I’m still unwell a month later

Redsparklybucket · 04/03/2021 13:37

Had mine on Tuesday, my arm feels heavy since the injection and the pin mark area is sore, but feel fine.

Just glad to have had the vaccine

zingally · 04/03/2021 13:37

My 65 year old mum had it at 9am. 7pm was feeling cold and shaky and "fluey". Took a couple of paracetamol and went to bed. Woke up the next morning with a tiny bit of a headache, but otherwise back to normal.

Dee2997 · 04/03/2021 13:37

Thanks all! I am very grateful I could have it. I’m unsure if I’ve had covid before, I may have mildly a year ago but obviously not tests at the time. I didn’t want to feel ill but my anxiety is telling me what if it isn’t working as it should! I’ve barley had a sore arm either. Only a very slight tenderness, nothing particularly bad. 😀

I just had a sore arm but that was it.

Nanasueathome · 04/03/2021 13:41

I had AZ a couple of weeks ago
Next morning I had a headache, took 1 panadol and it went away
No other side effects, not even sore or heavy arm
My grandson always says I look weak but must be really strong😀

Okay, but can we talk about Ross? Phwoar.
TheGriffle · 04/03/2021 13:46

I’ve just had the AstraZeneca jab today. My arms stingy and a bit itchy when it went in but not too bad. I hope I don’t get any more symptoms than that.

I was surprised at how small the jab itself is and how little it hurt.

Woodandsky · 04/03/2021 13:46

I have mine this afternoon, am so excited as I didn't know if I was in group 6 or not (asthma). Everyone is telling me I will feel ill tomorrow so I'll be very happy if not.

Abraxan · 04/03/2021 13:50

I had Pfizer a week ago. Had a sore arm and the jab site was a bit red and quite swollen. Though not as bad as the swollen arm I had after a flu jab a couple of years back. I had a strange pain under my arm - I've since realised it was the gland. That lasted about 4 or 5 days. Also had a headache for a couple of days. I know a few older people who had this one and the worst symptoms were a bit of a sore arm and/or headache.

Dh's younger colleague and wife had the AZ jab and both felt ill the next day. Lasted 24 hours. Another older couple were part of the trials and they didn't have symptoms bar a sore arm.
