No side effects with Astra Zeneca!

Had AZ at the weekend. Was told side effects are very common!

Also I know a quite a few people who have had it and the vast majority have had side effects. Some feeling very ill.

I’ve not had a single side effect. I’m grateful I’m not feeling poorly but worry it’s not been as effective as it should be.

Literally everyone else I know who’s had it has had side effects.

Anyone else not had any side effects at all?

Dh had his today. Arm a bit sore after but ok now

WiddlinDiddlin · 04/03/2021 21:06

I felt a bit crap for two days and the sore arm has lasted me over a week, just but only when I lie on it at night.

No where near as bad as some people have described though!

Some folk will be fine, you may have already had covid and so haven't had such a strong response.

You might be a non-responder, unfortunately as no ones going to be titer testing you'll never know if thats the case.

feelingverylazytoday · 04/03/2021 21:14

I had mine yesterday. My arm hurts a bit. I feel very tired as well, but that might be unrelated to the vaccine.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 04/03/2021 21:22

I had it last friday at 5, arm was really very sore at injection site and had odd pins and needles/dead arm on and off all evening

Felt really seedy on Saturday, waves of queasy and a bit flushy, bit hot and cold, dh said I had been extraordinarily restless in bed on the friday night.

The weird thing is I was going to give up and take to my bed for an early night but got tangled up watching something, all the while thinking to myself "ffs woman go to bed" and then as the programme finished I let the dog out and standing out in the garden I realised I felt completely normal, no queasy or anything.

Arm was still killing me until Thursday and now it only hurts if I poke it right on what must be the point of injection.

StellaElevator · 04/03/2021 21:24

Glad you didn’t have any side effects OP. I had it this morning and I feel as rough as a badger’s arse.

Justcallmebebes · 04/03/2021 21:25

Little bit of a sore arm. Nothing else

lidoshuffle · 04/03/2021 21:26

I'm 63 and had no serious side effects except I had sneezing fits for two days!

It was all so well organised; people patiently queuing, volunteers giving their time freely, lovely medical staff. I felt quite touched and very grateful.

I had AZ a bit later than my colleagues for admin reasons. Warned not to book in anything inportant. Had it at 10:00, vaccination centre was like clockwork and every one lovely. Drove home waiting for it to hit, prepared evening meal for DD as told I would feel awful. Felt fine so thought I got away with it then about midnight I just felt so cold and shivery, that was the main thing and some muscle ache. The injection arm hurt for about a week but other symptoms very short lived- maybe 24 hours. Small price to pay.

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 04/03/2021 21:59

I had a bad stomach for a couple of days, but I'll take that over actual covid any day of the week.

BlueSussex · 04/03/2021 22:06

I had AZ and aside from sore aching arm, no side effects at all.

DB had Pfizer, no side effects either.

I was ecstatic for a week and then found out my next door neighbours got Covid 5 weeks after their vaccinations (frontline health workers) which has really brought it home to me how much we need the second dose and even then it's not 100% effective in stopping Covid, but will hopefully reduce severity of disease

melj1213 · 04/03/2021 22:39

I had my first AZ jab about 3 weeks ago, on the day of the jab I just had a bit of an achey arm, but no more so than from my annual flu shot.

The following morning and I had to drag myself out of bed as I felt so bone tired, achey and my arm wasnt painful but I did have a red rash all round the injection site and it just felt heavy.

Took a couple of paracetamol and cracked on with the day and I managed alright till about 6/7pm when I started to feel flushed while simultaneously getting chills and a banging headache so took myself to bed with a plan to call into work sick the following day as I felt so awful ... went to bed at 8pm and woke up at 9am the following day as fresh as a daisy! I genuinely had to check my phone about 5 times to make sure I'd "only" slept 11 hours and hadn't somehow slept through a day as I felt 100% great and was a total 180 on the previous day

Krabapple · 04/03/2021 22:50

I had the Pfizer one with no side effects at all. Not even a sore arm. 2 dd’s one had AZ and one Pfizer & both felt ill for a couple of days (excuse spellings)

lifeturnsonadime · 04/03/2021 22:51

48 hours of feeling really shocking. I had it Wednesday lunchtime and Slept 16 hours yesterday (and I am normal an insomniac). I felt dire this morning and then late this afternoon/ evening completely back to normal.

Mmmmdanone · 05/03/2021 08:07

I've been tired and had a headache for a couple of days.

Whenthesunshines · 15/03/2021 18:20

Had mine a couple of hours ago. A-Z
Will report back...

happytoday73 · 15/03/2021 18:22

DH and 3 friends had over last weekend... All fine

missbridgerton · 15/03/2021 18:25

My arm is still a bit sore but I've had no side effects at all.

DH on the other hand has been quite poorly and is only just feeling better today (5th day).

I don't understand why Germany, France, Italy etc. are suspending AZ. Naturally if you are vaccinating millions of people, 1 or 2 are going to get ill or even die at that time, just by coincidence - due to the sheer number of people that have been validated.

It looks like some of these countries may be going into lockdown again, we need to get vaccinated to get over this!

flippertygibbit · 15/03/2021 18:30

I had mine at 2.30pm last Tuesday and it was Wednesday night that I felt ill - two paracetamol, hot water bottle and in to bed. Was fine when I woke up.

HeartsAndClubs · 15/03/2021 18:31

Naturally if you are vaccinating millions of people, 1 or 2 are going to get ill or even die at that time, just by coincidence - due to the sheer number of people that have been validated. it’s an easy way to downplay the UK’s success in the vaccination programme and justify the EU’s absolutely shocking handling of vaccines.

I suppose that if they’ve suspended the use of the jab they’ll now be exporting their excess to other countries? Nope. Didn’t think so.

If this pandemic carries on longer than it should because of lack of vaccinations the EU will be to blame.

Hushabyelullaby · 15/03/2021 18:43

Just as an aside as others have mentioned the other vaccine too, my dad had Pfizer and was completely floored for 2 days with awful flu type symptoms (normally a healthy 66 year old). When he mentioned it at the centre when he went for the 2nd jab, they said that they think that many people who had symptoms were likely to have had covid before we were even aware of it. (I thought if anything it'd be the other way round but apparently not).

A relative had the Pfizer and was very tired achy the next day. I'm bracing myself (will I feel ill/won't I feel ill) as its only a few hours since I had the A-Z. I've just taken a couple of paracetamol in a totally pointless attempt to ward off any side effects that might be round the corner...
oneglassandpuzzled · 15/03/2021 18:59

I'm 57 and had AZ on Saturday afternoon. First thing on Sunday I felt mildly nauseous and then mildly flu-y and tired during the day, with a slightly sore throat.

Nothing this morning when I woke up. Completely back to normal.

Has anyone had a second AZ dose yet?

StoneofDestiny · 15/03/2021 18:59

Had no side effects, but only had 1 jag so far

StoneofDestiny · 15/03/2021 19:00

Sorry - I had Pfizer
