To throw away this painting - with pic

Bought a lovely Victorian flat with my partner however the previous occupant left this truly awful painting. Am I being unreasonable to just throw it away? Partner seems to think we could sell it! I just want it gone as it’s giving me nightmares just looking at it.

Sell it for sure. I would say even better to give it to a charity shop, but I'm not sure if a charity shop would want it; might creep out the staff and customers!

LovinLondon613 · 03/03/2021 17:30

And look carefully for a signature; it could be someone famous, and you don't want to sell it for pennies in that case.

Fluffmum · 03/03/2021 17:31

Ebay it

Poopoopoo · 03/03/2021 17:33

ShockYuk, scary, sell it quick

Absolutely. Check to see if its worth anything first.
El121 · 03/03/2021 17:35

Contact the agents you bought it off tell them they left it. If not I would just jump it

SnozPoz · 03/03/2021 17:36

If it was worth anything they would have taken it with them. It's worthless. And terrifying. Get rid

Toomuchtrouble4me · 03/03/2021 17:37

@SprogletsMum

No matter how many times you sell that painting it will end up back on your wall in its place Shock
OMG!
dcthatsme · 03/03/2021 17:38

Get rid of it NOW!! Why don't you leave it outside and see if anyone takes it? Might be good for the set of a horror film.

gerryk62 · 03/03/2021 17:38

Might end up like that scary Chucky doll
The more u throw it out It keeps finding his way home😩😩😩😩

PrincessLeiaInlockdown · 03/03/2021 17:39

I’d love to burn it and call the priest Grin

B33Fr33 · 03/03/2021 17:39

You could start it on a magical journey around the internet so everyone can lose sleep marvel at it. Send it to a charity shop really local but add a # to it Grin

1960mrscake · 03/03/2021 17:41

Just sell it. Someone will love it and you will love the money.

LouH1981 · 03/03/2021 17:41

It’s needs to be as far away from your house as possible. Use the canal they use in Eastenders...everything disappears in there. Except Dirty Den but I digress!

pepsicolagirl · 03/03/2021 17:41

I would NEVER chuck a painting without getting it valued or doing some kind of homework on the artist. You literally never know.

AllTheFloralCurtains · 03/03/2021 17:43

You have to give it to someone who is willing to take it - else the clown will come alive and kill you in your sleep. Sorry, OP.

Fuckadoodledoooo · 03/03/2021 17:45

Holy water.

Then fire.

Then holy water on the ashes.

DishingOutDone · 03/03/2021 17:45

Can you store it in a cellar and not go in there again unless you hear a voice?

Fuckadoodledoooo · 03/03/2021 17:45

But get it looked at first just incase it's worth squillions.

XenoBitch · 03/03/2021 17:45

This painting is sure to one day be on one of those "Top 10 Cursed Items" things you see on YouTube Grin

Chichiboo · 03/03/2021 17:50

someone will 100% buy that but yes i also think its horrid.

Ddot · 03/03/2021 17:52

Not my cuppa but its good, looks like a Geiger, think that's how you spell it. He did the monster in alien. Probably not but get it on Ebay. Art is very personal, please don't destroy. That is someone's craft.

Ddot · 03/03/2021 17:54

My niece would love it, so if you want rid, send to me 🤣

Holothane · 03/03/2021 17:55

That’s awful no wonder you want gone I’d ripped it and then put in recycle.

msgreen · 03/03/2021 17:55

looks like a teenagers A level art piece ,leave it out on the street by the wheel bin saying help yourself ,
