I dunno. Eating mussels and drinking rose on a summers day on the french riviera is pretty much

But yeah, spring in England with the birds chirping and the bulbs out and especially now with such a sense of positivity and potential is REALLY lovely

Loopyloututu2 · 23/02/2021 11:34

And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon Englands mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On Englands pleasant pastures seen!

And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my Bow of burning gold:
Bring me my arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!

I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In Englands green & pleasant Land.

We used to spend a lot of time, BC Before Covid, in the South West of the USA, one of our favourite areas in the world, but flying back into the UK was often breath taking. We would be flying in from Schiphol to Norwich and would cross the coast pretty low, it was beautiful. As much as we loved Arizona etc no-one could call it lovely from the air!

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 23/02/2021 11:35

Scotland is very pretty too - anywhere in the UK with mountains (I love a bright spring day when you can see snowy tipped mountains).

squashyhat · 23/02/2021 11:37

Well I shall stand here in my wrongness and be wrong then. Give me proper mountains or a warm beach any day.

LibrariesGiveUsPower45321 · 23/02/2021 11:39

Yes. Wales on a sunny day. On the Glamorgan or Pembrokeshire coast or up In the Mountains. You can’t beat that (except maybe the lochs and highlands of Scotland).

Just send the sun over please?

MrsDThomas · 23/02/2021 11:40

Wales is beautiful. I prefer my homeland.

Crazycatlady007 · 23/02/2021 11:41

New Zealand is beautiful in the spring.

ImaHogg · 23/02/2021 11:41

It’s the one thing in life which really does make my heart sing. Those first signs of new life emerging and the knowledge that warmer, clearer days and lighter nights just fills me with joy. I’ve been out on my walk this morning and seeing the snowdrops and crocuses is a wonderful sight. I can’t wait for the daffodils to start coming through. Even the birds are chirping more. I’m with you op, spring in England is wonderful.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 23/02/2021 11:42

I think we have so much beautiful countryside in the U.K. We often meet tourists (remember holidays?) who would say how much they loved waking and climbing here.

We just don’t appreciate what’s on our doorstep! Of course, the rainforests in NZ are absolutely amazing...

Hippopotas · 23/02/2021 11:43

Agreed especially if there are lambs frolicking and crocuses tulips and daffodils

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 23/02/2021 11:44

I have my washing out on the line, blowing in the wind.

I like Spring.

Joking - All the UK is beautiful in the spring sunshine - but also in the crisp autumn sunshine with the golden trees and the blue skies......ahhh love it here Grin

WineInTheWillows · 23/02/2021 11:47

@ImaHogg We saw our first daffodil of spring yesterday.

It is beautiful at this time of year. AND we were out until half five and it was still light outside.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 23/02/2021 11:48

I live in the Lakes. There is no better view than when you come over a hill and see the mountains in the distance. I've been to some lovely countries but the British Isles (E, S, W, NI and ROI) cannot be beaten for scenic greenness. There's something very soothing about it.

partyatthepalace · 23/02/2021 11:53

I agree, was thinking that Sunday and yesterday, which makes the fact it is pissing with rain today considerably WORSE

DailyMaui · 23/02/2021 11:57

Spring here is indeed lovely but true prefection is summer morning or afternoon on a deserted French atlantic beach (or the hidden beach I found on the Ile D'Oleron).

Then a trip to a perfect bistrot for some moules frites and a huge glass of provence rose... bliss.

AryaStarkWolf · 23/02/2021 11:57

Ireland is more beautiful, sorry to disappoint you

DailyMaui · 23/02/2021 11:58

*perfection...urrgh

Hate when people call Ireland part of the British Isles. You can say well that's what they're called all you like but it's inaccurate and needs to be changed imo
Roadhouse111 · 23/02/2021 12:01

Ireland (specifically Northern) is just as lovely 😁

KNain · 23/02/2021 12:03

Happy to be firmly in the wrong camp on this.

I always think UK spring days look nicer than they feel.

They look lovely and sunny but there's always a slight chill in the breeze and I find I still need quite a big coat in spring.

Give me a hot, hot beach with an icy cold cocktail any day.

Northpole23 · 23/02/2021 12:04

As a foreigner here I disagree spring for us is a warm 21c at least if not even higher that’s the lowest lol. And spectacular beaches that beat any in the U.K. and I love Wales and Scotland but just nicer. Plus I’ve travelled all over the world and whilst it’s beautiful here boy are very wrong , some places are just way above England in spring.

MrsMoastyToasty · 23/02/2021 12:07

Atishoo! Snuggle! Wheeze!

I love England and the rest of the UK. I just hate spring because it brings hayfever.
Bring me a crisp autumn day anytime!
