@Wondermule

Why don't we settle on how amazing the world is in Spring

Because this thread is about England? Just let us have our happy little chat about pub gardens and crocuses without having a shit fit that England is being complimented. It’s clearly a rhetorical post and whiney little remarks like yours just kill the buzz.

Whiney? Whiney? If I wanted to give you whiney I fucking would. I was trying to be magnanimous, clearly you're too ignorant to see that. A shit fit? Incorrect and gauche.

Piss off with your own indulgent nationalism. When YOU have been systematically undermined for centuries come back and we'll have a decent debate about how small, minded bigots make us feel.

I could bang on about the London money that floods into small communities out pricing local people, but I won't, I could wax lyrical about the decimation of Scotland by Thatcher, but I won't.

If you want a proper debate about Nationalism and bigotry start another thread. If not just close your ignorant mouth.

That clear enough for you?

Wondermule · 06/03/2021 13:54

@Puffalicious

Piss off with your own indulgent nationalism.

Says the poster who gatecrashed a thread about England to say how Ireland and Scotland are sooooo much better Grin

Sick of the ‘blah blah oppression’ whinging that crops up on every thread with the word England in it. Like any of us outside of London have been riding high with the tories in power.

Bugger off and start your own thread. You’ve got a whole section just for you to complain in.

Wondermule · 06/03/2021 13:59

Btw I’m nowhere near old enough to have been systematically undermining Scotland for centuries.

Wondermule · 06/03/2021 14:24

@BidensWingWoman

Because this thread is about England?

Really? Because it looks very much like the thread is about comparing England to other places.

I don’t mind comparisons at all. I said Scotland is undoubtedly more beautiful in winter. But they only flow one way - you can only say Ireland/Wales/Scotland is better or they get all sensitive about it or pick at semantics like @AryaStarkWolf

It’s just such a buzz kill on an otherwise lovely thread. I normally just humour them like a very elderly distant relative and just go ‘yeah, yeah’ but I guess I’ve lost my patience today 😬

ViciousJackdaw · 06/03/2021 14:29

Fucking hell, you've got some front.

Must be the lockdown getting to me 😬 I’m not normally this rude!
BlueThistles · 06/03/2021 14:31

My opinion is that the rest of the UK is dramatic in winter, but England does the rest better because you see the change of seasons more. It is beautiful in a gentle and wholesome way that the other countries just aren’t. Deal with it 🙄

I'm not Hostile about other countries... I don't insult or offend other countries... and I'm very welcoming of all nationalities.. all countries Flowers

A 'buzz kill'? Where on Earth did you learn English? Clearly you have trouble reading too, since I didn't say YOU had oppressed a country for centuries, obviously.

I'll post where the hell I like, particularly where there's blatant Nationalism going on.

You're rude, ignorant and clearly think you're superior. Bore off.

Nationalism? 😂😂 I’m not a nationalist! Sounds like you are though!

‘We have the upper hand’ ‘Go educate yourself’ ‘Small minded bigot’ ‘Close your ignorant mouth’ ‘When you’ve been oppressed for centuries blah blah...’

Yet I’m rude and think I’m superior for saying England is nicer in Spring 🙄🙄

Ladies I give you the cognitive dissonance of Puffalicious 😂😂 goodbye.

Puffalicious · 06/03/2021 19:24

I'm not putting myself on edge- in the true meaning of cognitive dissonance- if I'm putting you on edge it's because what you say doesn't align with what you think. Perhaps the lady doth protest too much about being a Nationalist.

You're rude by your own admission and totally ignorant if you think the beauty of our country stops at the English border, remdering it less so a centimetre away in Wales or Scotland. It smacks of separatism at its worst. I'm no Nationalist, I can't stand division and one upmanship. English attitudes like yours only stir discontent deeper into the fabric of society.

Goodbye, indeed.

Apart from I never said any of that did I 🙄 getting silly now
Puffalicious · 06/03/2021 21:24

Silly? You just can't handle someone who can express themselves without resorting to cheap jibes and tropes. Jog on.

You just can’t the fact some people love spring in England and find it nicer than elsewhere 🤷🏼‍♀️ In fact you’ve become actively nasty over it! Someone needs a chill pill
Puffalicious · 07/03/2021 00:40

Not nasty, truthful: huge difference.

In matters of opinion, there is no truth Smile you take care.
Frazzled2207 · 07/03/2021 00:52

Nah, Wales is nicer 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

BlueThistles · 07/03/2021 01:54

Wales is beautiful so lush 🎉

Hesma · 07/03/2021 08:14

I’m with you OP... there are places just a lovely but England on a spring day is up there with the best of them!

PeterPanNeverLands · 07/03/2021 08:33

This thread has made me laugh this morning.

Can personally think of much prettier places than England but it's still nice in bits. It's an AIBU thread and posters getting so caught up in people disagreeing.

Go chill out with a cup of tea 😁

BurgundyBells · 07/03/2021 08:47

So to sum up the thread...apparently England do Spring better. The feel is more wholesome, the air fresher and more renewing, the appearances of growing things more beautiful.

All of this stops at the border of course. I mean, it's nice in other parts of the UK, it just couldn't be quite as nice anywhere else.

I don't even know where to start. I think 'yes dear', an indulgent smile and a pat on the head is all that's really possible 😂

Wondermule · 07/03/2021 08:50

I dunno what threads you’ve been reading but nobody has said that on here!
Wondermule · 07/03/2021 08:56

I would say to sum up the thread, I ventured the opinion England is the nicest UK in the spring, a bunch of posters had a hissy fit because I wouldn’t revoke it, I got called ignorant, told to educate myself, told I don’t know what it’s like to be oppressed (!!) and told to shut my mouth.

All I said was don’t have a cow about it 🙄

You’ve all proved my point nicely!

ArmchairTraveller · 07/03/2021 09:16

I’ve lived in the North of England, and the SW and the SE. And the middle.
I like spring, but I prefer it in the south where it arrives around 3 weeks earlier than in the north, and winter arrives later.
I also dislike squabbling, lots of places are beautiful in springtime.
