To think a sitting Labour MP should operate in line with their manifesto

Leeds Labour MP has confirmed he doesn’t think women should have any sex segregated spaces (despite the commitment in the last manifesto), and that anyone who disagrees is a bigot.

If you vote for a party, shouldn’t you be able to rely on your MP abiding by manifesto commitments?

Also, what kind of woman hating psychopath thinks that refuges and prisons should be mixed sex?

When have politicians ever stuck to an election manifesto?

Maybe a letter writing campaign to him, Keir Starmer and a couple of newspapers is a good idea here. Might help him see the error of his ways.

Wow. That is seriously disturbing.

Does he not think that their are huge differences between men and women in terms of their how their bodies function, and their size, strength and relative propensity towards violence and sexual assault, or does he just not think that they matter enough to give women the benefit of single sex spaces?

But they just don't care. Starmer stood by and watched as Helen Steele, who he has known for decades, was removed from his campaign launch and did nothing. The man who sits on the fence on every single issue seems to be perfectly confident in picking a side when it comes to throwing women under a bus. They are aware of the concerns. They have been told repeatedly. They don't care. :-( Our vote is the only power we have now. I think they may have forgotten that women have the vote too. I will be spoiling my ballot with #labourlosingwomen at the next election to remind them.

Would he extend this to religious groups where the men and women worship separately I wonder.

What kind of utter bastard wants mixed sex prisons? I mean I know a lot of people say you've done the crime do the time. But mixing in the proportionately tiny amount of women in prison for predominantly non violent offences with the male population? That's utterly evil.

I mean if he doesn't care about what will be done to them re violence, sexual violence and God only knows what. There are going to be babies. In whose interest is that?

I can't get to grips with this at all.

And the rest of it. I know when no more mixed sex wards were promised it was a lie. Nevertheless. I was on a mixed sex ward at 18. Me and about 7 men. The nurses only came around sometimes. A couple of them just sat and started at me. It was really unsettling.

Anything could have happened looking back. Luckily it was an orthopaedic ward so they were a bit less mobile...

Also. Mixed secure mental health facilities.

I'm not throwing women under the bus. And every other party will do exactly that. A labour win would look like the Biden win. No thanks.

What woman would vote for him? Men, and women who hate themselves and other women? Maybe?

Any woman who votes for him should volunteer to spend a week in an all male prison. If it's good enough for female prisoners, put your money where your mouth is.

It probably won't change his mind, or get Starmer off his fence. But at least they wouldn't be able to pretend they didn't know that women and girls want, and need, these facilities.

He's wrong about there being no evidence of mixed sex facilities being less safe than single, too.

I just can't get past the arrogance.
