If my cat had AIBU...

AIBU to think that three pouches of wet food, two meals of dry food, some treats and unlimited fresh water just isn’t sufficient to sustain a cat? I’m so starved, I had to tell all the children on my human’s zoom lesson about it in the hope they’d feed me. They didn’t, and human shut me out the office, so I only had the whole rest of the house to run around.

How do I call cat line?

Girl cat - AIBU to launch myself on my humans back when shes on a teams call and get the old claw or 2 stuck in her back. I just want to tell her I love her.
Boy cat - AIBU to dig in my litter tray as if im trying to dig to Australia and scatter the litter every where so I can see where I'm going properly.

trevthecat · 03/02/2021 12:00

Aibu for licking myself whist on the humans lap, whilst she tries to join in a teams meeting? And also aibu to sit by the back door and moan constantly to be let out and then just run round the side of the house and use my cat flap to come straight back in again? I think not.

AlfonsoTheSensible · 03/02/2021 12:00

"Luckily my hooman believes in penis portions"

Is that by weight?

Triffid1 · 03/02/2021 12:01

I love my human so when it's nearly breakfast time, I like to get her in the mood to feed me by jumping on the bed at her face then lying on her chest or side while purring very very loudly.. the combination is a lovely way for her and the man human to wake up. I'm just showing her love and ensuring she wakes up in time for breakfast. IABU to think that being tossed off the bed is totally unfair and borderline abusive behaviour?

Toddlerteaplease · 03/02/2021 12:01

Our Hooman is having the fence fixed so we can't escape into next doors garden. Her garden is boring. And the trees are going so we can't hide under them. And having the Hooman around all he time when not at work is very annoying.

@YesItsMeIDontCare

Ridiculous idea for a thread.

No cat is ever unreasonable and they know it.

😁

Very true. They wouldn't think twice about AIBU as they couldn't give a toss x
Piglet89 · 03/02/2021 12:02

No way would a cat ever give even the smallest particle of a shit about whether others thought it might or might not be being unreasonable.

Piglet89 · 03/02/2021 12:03

Beat me to it @spurs4ever 😂

Triffid1 · 03/02/2021 12:03

Also, IABU to get myself onto the utility room roof then stare inside the window on the stair case, freaking the human DC out, because I want to be let in? I know that window doesn't open without removing the blinds, but really, is it that big a deal? why should I have to jump down and go round to the cat flap? And really, what is with the small humans freaking out when they see me balancing up there?!

Piglet89 · 03/02/2021 12:05

“I am being perfectly reasonable in lying in the baby’s cot and on his changing mat because I too am a dependant and I don’t want our caregiver to forget that”.

CriticalWoman · 03/02/2021 12:08

Aibu to expect my human to recognise the millisecond between her rubbing behind my ear and me absolutely and demonstrably loving it and the moment I hate it and want to rip her hand to shreds with my claws?

BerylSilverstone · 03/02/2021 12:12

Aibu to show my bum to people on my mum’s zoom call? Lol

CriticalWoman · 03/02/2021 12:13

Aibu to think that the tiny drop of liquid my human places on the back of my neck every single month amounts to abuse as it smells a bit icky for at least 10 minutes and frankly I'd rather have the fleas and worms it's supposed to eradicate?

HunkyPunk · 03/02/2021 12:14

AIBU to sit and stare, and stare, and stare at the other occupants of my house until they are so uncomfortable that they feel compelled to get up and start offering me what they think I might want - food/door opening/stroking.... I'm worried that I may be a bit controlling (not! Grin)

spurs4ever · 03/02/2021 12:15

@Piglet89 great minds 😂

Carishina · 03/02/2021 12:16

AIBU to think that it’s not a major issue if I have a few sips of my human’s glass of water? I’m happy to share my water bowl but she gets the hump if I just have a few mouthfuls of hers.

Also I like to have breakfast quite early. She can just get up open a pouch at 3am surely?

CriticalWoman · 03/02/2021 12:21

Aibu to finally tell my human that I am not her "iddy biddy baby", my name is not Gorgeous Porgeous or indeed BobblesBonBon, and yes, I am the most beautiful girl who ever walked the earth and therefore it is unnecessary for her to ask me if I am every single day.

StarlightLady · 03/02/2021 12:23

What may l ask is the point of having servants to open and close doors if you have to use a cat flap? But, it gets worse, there is no night porter on the premises. 😾

CriticalWoman · 03/02/2021 12:26

Starlight - I have night porters, but I am happy for them to sleep when I don't require their services - so long as they get up the moment I summon them.

@Porcupineintherough

AIBU to expect you to let you in and feed me, even though I am not your cat?
This is what mumsnet was made for cheering people up on a miserable day.ps we have one of these cats.
motherrunner · 03/02/2021 12:28

So to divert the thread. My gorgeous boy passed away last year and this has brought back so many happy memories (although not so much at the time!) of all the wonderful things cats do!

As soon as lockdown is over we are on the hunt for another - or maybe more!

Sauvblanca · 03/02/2021 12:28

My favourite game is to bat small objects underneath the freezer. Oh the excitement! The anticipation, pushing it ever closer, then the thrill of watching it disappear out of sight.

But joy turns to panic as I realise I no longer have my toy, because it is underneath the freezer and my arms are too short to reach it.

AIBU to expect my human to lie on the kitchen floor with a torch and a spatula to retrieve my prized possessions every time? Or should I take their advice and find something else to play with? The problem with the latter is that eventually I will run out of toys because they are all under the freezer.

motherrunner · 03/02/2021 12:28

*sorry

HexWitch · 03/02/2021 12:28

AIBU to expect that every surface in the house should be available for me to sit/lay/play on at any given time? Just today I was sat on the toaster which was nice and warm, and my human moved me off and said some unkind words under her breath.

Also they refuse to let me eat off their plates. That's not right, is it? My 3 dishes of wet food per day plus treats just isn't enough so AIBU to expect at least a 4th dish full and extra biscuits if I'm not allowed to share theirs?
