Anything featuring Kevin the kitten by Vanessa stockard. I just love them. Unfortunately they are well out my price range and I can find prints anywhere so I will continue to dream

^^Forgot to say I bought this a couple of years ago in Whitby.

TheLuckiest · 22/01/2021 12:07

Anything by Pam Carter. pamcarter.co.uk/

If I ever have a spare £6k, I'm getting an original. I have to put up with a signed print for now.

She has a gallery on the Isle of Skye & she happened be in when we visited. A very talented painter and a very nice lady.

This, it's of the area where we holiday every summer and I love the colours. I had my 40th birthday recently and wanted some grown up art. I got some lovely prints but this is my favourite.

@TheLuckiest

I love that peacock *@ArtyBat*!!
Me too @TheLuckiest .

I saw it on the flyer that was advertising the event Jo was selling at and fell in love with its quirkiness immediately. So off we went and there it was! I bought it there and then.

Mortimer Menpez
DH bought a painting at a auction for about £50. When we took it to be reglazed, the framer phoned us and told us he had found the original framing instructions under the edges of the frame for the summer exhibition at the royal academy.
DH did some investigating and it seems it’s worth in the region of £8k.

IcicleLight · 22/01/2021 12:57

@FenEel I can waste ages in that gallery whenever I'm home. The Mandy Walden pictures are also lovely!

CGWGWOO · 22/01/2021 13:14

I have this. It still needs a frame.

Anything by McMonster (Mc_Monster on instagram).

MustardMitt · 22/01/2021 13:28

My favourite piece of art is Cafe at Night by Van Gogh, which I’m unlikely ever to own Grin.

My favourite piece I own is a print by an American artist, I found her on Reddit.

There’s a painting I’d love to own by someone I’m in a Facebook group with, it’s a woman swimming underwater with the highlights picked out in gold leaf. Totally stunning. The prints don’t do it justice though.

The Pam Carter stuff is lovely, I've just a nosey. I liked some of the Daniel Cooper pieces we saw recently in the Lake District too, but OH was a bit less keen, other than one which was pencil rather than charcoal.

We have stuff all over our walls but it tends to be vintage advertising and ephemera with the occasional photograph. I also have a neon sculpture which I adore.

I have a lot of paintings by my grandfather. Can’t post any because he’s relatively famous and it would be outing, but my favourites are a portrait of me he did when I was a child (I have such clear and happy memories of that day - I felt so special and the painting is beautiful) and a painting of Ben Law he gave me as a wedding present.

TaraR2020 · 22/01/2021 18:25

I hope one day to own a Philip Gray - philipgray.com/

Stunning paintings!

Also love Kevin the Kitten!!

AcornAutumn · 22/01/2021 18:34

This is a brilliant thread

Hopefully it will go on a really long time
Hopper reminds me - the Hopper exhibition at the Tate was so amazing, I went twice and the second time I was on crutches and didn't really go anywhere.

In terms of prints in my tiny flat...
