Lovely thread. Hoping someone knows of this artist as I loved her work but couldn't afford it then. Her paintings were displayed in a trendy cafe/restaurant in Glasgow when I visited in May 2017. They were
beautiful paintings of swimmers; I wrote her name down but cannot find it or the name of the cafe. Thanks.

I love Ron Lawson's work, beautiful images of the islands around Scotland. They're expensive though!

RiojaRose · 22/01/2021 22:11

I love Barbara Hepworth. Wish I owned something of hers. Oh, and Mark Rothko. I really like abstract art in general.

@TaraR2020

I hope one day to own a Philip Gray - philipgray.com/

Stunning paintings!

Also love Kevin the Kitten!!

These are just beautiful. I’ve never seen his art before. Particularly love his Altitude and Fire and Ice works.

@TonkinLenkicks I love Leonid Afremov too, the paintings are beautiful. I also love Lora Zombie. I got a couple of her prints for Christmas cos I buy my own presents to get things I love!! I would really love some of her superhero prints, but they're no longer available. I live in hope that Ebay will be kind to me one day Grin

My DH & I love Kealey Farmer, we have 3 pieces. This is our first purchase, the one that started our love! It’s based on the 80’s - oh I am an 80’s girl 😂 The hill has lyrics on it. I need a house with more fee walls!!

Fell in love with Hide and Seek by J.J.J. Tissot in high school and had a print of it in my room for years. I just loved the little girl who reminded me of a baby I took care of with the golden curls.

I love Georgia O'Keeffe. I stumbled across a museum to her work when I was on holiday in Santa Fe. So erotic and feminine it just blew me away. I'm more of a fan of her strong coloured works but I'd settle for any! Just have to settle for prints though.

We have a gigantic framed print of this. Four in a boat by Michael Sowa. Amazing how few people notice the dogs!

La Gare de Perpignon by Dali. It's a really big canvass and in the museum where it lives you walk up some stairs, turn a corner and there it is. It looks as though there's a light shining through the canvass

Chloe Trayhurn - there are a few of hers that just encapsulate early motherhood so perfectly and I adore them.

Love David Hockney, obviously don't own any but am collecting Ali Smith's seasons books as much for the artwork on the cover as the books.

Anything by Vladimir Kush and - complete contrast - the pre raphaelites

ghostyslovesheets · 22/01/2021 22:55

@allBoysarebackintown - that's where I first saw it - I've had the print in my bedroom ever since!

PicaK · 22/01/2021 22:57

Jack Vetrianno - the beach ones. I know, I know. Regarded as not really art. But they always seem to suggest to me a myriad of unseen stories. In the way photos never tell you the whole picture. I sometimes forget that I've just imagined those stories and not everyone else knows them!

I'm very fond of my Steve O'Connell little ballerina prints (the first was a present from a charity shop, from my DSis!). I'd love an original.

You'll Find It's More Complicated - Print

Spermysextowel · 22/01/2021 23:22

I don’t know think that worked. I’ve never tried to add a picture before. The Artist’s name is Gail Troth & the picture hangs behind me when I WFH at the table & I can see individual blobs. When I’m further away in the kitchen the effect is really different.
