@GrouchyKiwi - I have Miranda on the wall of my lounge. I really do like pre-raphaelite paintings.

I would love a print or canvas of one of the moon paintings by Megan Aroon Duncanson. I asked for one for Christmas (didn't get) and will try again for my birthday in June.

I love this. It brought me comfort when my little dog died.

I recently found an artist called Carrion Heart that I love. Unconventional, out of my price range and probably couldn't get away with having most of the pieces on my wall with 2 young DC, but maybe one day!

I also love a good Wimmelbilder - the older the better

@IcicleLight thank you Grin

I have several favourites so it's difficult to choose. One is a poster from the John Martin exhibition at Tate Britain which has his Great Day of His Wrath painting as backdrop: www.tate.org.uk/art/artworks/martin-the-great-day-of-his-wrath-n05613

I have a few seascapes by contemporary Cornish artists (though mainly limited edition prints rather than originals).

Brian Froud.

I am an artist myself but the first time i saw his work it almost made me lay my pencil down forever. (i got over it, but his talent floors me)

These two in my house. Two different styles.

First is a limited edition print of “Ride on the Wild Side” by Bob Barker.
The second is an original mixed media that I bought on impulse from an art gallery which was also a hair salon 😂 while I was having my hair highlighted. I fell in love with it while sitting having the foils done. Sadly the artist hasn’t signed it and I cannot remember her name (it was over 20 years ago) but for some reason I can’t explain I love it.

Ooh show us @Mydogisagentleman - my mil bought a bangle in a charity shop for £1.75 & got home & bil realised it was Chopard & worth £5k ish

This is a painting that I love - pil kindly bought it for us when we asked them to bid on it. Very peaceful & calming to me.

I just missed out on a Doyly John painting I really wanted a couple of days ago at auction though 😔

Leonid Afremov. I just love the colours, he used a trowel to paint and the texture adds to it. It makes me happy whenever I look at it

The art that I love in galleries and the one I'd have in my flat are generally very different.
I absolutely adore Bridget Riley, Tracey Emin or Lucian Freud but wouldn't want that on my walls.

For my walls, I'd love something by Miró, Malevich, El Lissitzky or Alarah Gee. (Miró, Malevich and El Lissitzky are totally out of question money wise, but I can still consider Alarah Gee, and I will one day!)

@Heartburnkillingme

Anything featuring Kevin the kitten by Vanessa stockard. I just love them. Unfortunately they are well out my price range and I can find prints anywhere so I will continue to dream
Oh my god I'd never seen these and have just been scrolling - I love them!! Thank you so much for alerting me to their existence!!!
FenellaVelour · 22/01/2021 21:38

Of the pieces I don’t have but would love, I am on the lookout for a print of The Stranger by Brian Mashburn, and I also love the chaos of Rasit Altun’s paintings.

Oh, and I’d also like an original Julie Ann Scott who paints some beautiful seascapes/skies: covegallery.co.uk/collections/julie-ann-scott

How did I not know about these. They’re amazing!

I'd love a painting of The Accolade by Edmund Blair Leighton.

I had a framed print of it once, but would love to have an actual painting

@Dextersdaddy another vote for The Execution ofLady Jane Grey - its magnificent, the depiction of the light on the white dress is otherworldly.

However my favourite piece of allllll time is Matisse The Snail. He produced it in his older years when he could no longer paint - I love the sentiment.

GallowsHumour · 22/01/2021 22:00

I don’t own either, but I saw her work in a group show last year, and liked it. Printmaker, painter. Debbie Godsell.
