Just listening to her statement to the Scottish Parliament. I don’t want to debate her wider politics or the question of Scottish independence because that’s for the Scots to decide.
I’m just so impressed by her leadership and how clear and concise she is. There’s no waffle, no bluster. She’s just said Scotland is 4wks behind London so the time to act is now before they’re in the same position.

Her manner is just so factual and informative and if I was Scottish or lived in Scotland whether I agreed with her SNP politics or not, I’d be very glad she was my FM. She makes BJ look like an uneducated idiot who is neither responsible nor has the balls to take decisions before the effects are smacking him on the face.

Sensible decision!

toomanyplants · 04/01/2021 14:20

I agree. She speaks with such authority and confidence. I really like her.

ComDummings · 04/01/2021 14:22

Yes, of course she isn’t perfect but I like that she doesn’t waffle, she gets on with things and shows good leadership.

AllPlayedOut · 04/01/2021 14:22

YABVU. I can't bear her. I can't stand Boris either but she especially infuriates me, probably because I'm in Scotland and she and her ridiculous decisions affect me more. I can barely stand to look at her.

LoveACockatoo · 04/01/2021 14:23

Oh leave off

strawberrie · 04/01/2021 14:23

I am totally anti SNP and nationalism but I do agree that Sturgeon is exceptionally good at communicating. Not a word is wasted, she speaks with confidence and clarity, no matter how difficult the message.

AgnesNaismith · 04/01/2021 14:24

Yep, she’s empathetic, factual, succinct, personable and obviously intelligent.

Hey Scotland, instead of leaving the U.K. how about we can all be Scottish?

sst1234 · 04/01/2021 14:24

She is a good public speaker. Aside from that SNPs record in govt isn’t exactly glowing despite the Barnet formula. In health outcomes, educational outcomes, drug use the data speaks for itself and leaves her quite exposed. But hey we live in the age of celebrity, being able to bullshit is more important than actual results.

Downton57 · 04/01/2021 14:24

I have a huge amount of respect for her. Definitely isn't perfect but I don't find her decisions at all ridiculous.

cantdothisnow1 · 04/01/2021 14:26

Her position on women's rights is problematic but she is decisive and speaks well.

Two characteristics that are not shared with our PM.

KatieGGGG · 04/01/2021 14:26

“I don’t want to debate her wider politics or the question of Scottish independence because that’s for the Scots to decide.”

Only a handful of comments in and that aspect has been ignored!

Completely agree. Politicians need to get to the point, particularly in areas like covid announcements which are nearly every day.

ApolloandDaphne · 04/01/2021 14:26

I am Scottish and not a fan of the SNP but I think NS has handled the pandemic well. She doesn't fanny about but cuts to the chase. I respect that.

Orf1abc · 04/01/2021 14:28

She's proactive, which gets my (MN) vote. She's not perfect but she admits when she gets things wrong and learns from it (and apologises).

HumphreyCobblers · 04/01/2021 14:29

What she says comes over well. What she does, less so.

In today’s world what people say is more important than what they do. I am depressed by this.

I am biased against her as I loathe her politics but she IS a good speaker.

lovelemoncurd · 04/01/2021 14:29

Nah. She belongs in her rightful place in The Crankies!

GetOffYourHighHorse · 04/01/2021 14:31

Exactly. She does a lovely speech without a doubt and the msm give her a very easy ride for some reason. She's a seal clapper's dream.

Johnson isn't always the best speaker although I do like him booming at Starmer’s nasally whines in PMQs, yet what Boris lacks in concise delivery he makes up for in content and ability. Brexit for example..

Crankley · 04/01/2021 14:32

She's fucking awful and runs a one policy government. All she cares about is independence.

FlatteredRhubardFool · 04/01/2021 14:32

I'm watching with dd and the difference between NS and BJ is phenomenal. I know she is disliked by many on here and I admit to not knowing her wider politics but she has impressed me throughout the pandemic. She knows what's going on and seems very knowledgeable. Bj should listen and learn. He normally does just copy a few hours later doesn't he. Shame he can't be decisive and knowledgable and inspire some confidence. Feckless figface.

Babdoc · 04/01/2021 14:33

Can’t stand her. All style, no substance. Her only skills are propaganda and public speaking.
Her party’s record in office is abysmal, on everything from education, health, the economy, women’s rights, you name it. An independent Scotland would be an impoverished disaster, without the subsidy from the UK to bail out its deficit.
You do realise she wanted to force women rape victims to undergo intimate forensic examinations by men, giving them no right to insist on a female doctor? Still think she’s so bloody wonderful?

NellyJames · 04/01/2021 14:33

I appreciate that many Scots disagree with the stance of the SNP. I just think that in times like this, in the middle of an international crisis, I’d rather have NS who tells it how it is without waffle or bullshit; without bluster or over use of the word, alas. She’s giving bad news now with all the bad publicity that may come with that because she’s been advised by the scientists that this is what’s necessary. Johnson will put it off and put it off until there’s literally nowhere else to go and we’re overrun.

Hahahaha!!!!!!
You can have the little dictator!
Her style of delivery does not mean she is good for Scotland.
No wonder she has so many mindless followers!
Also compare Boris' education with hers...

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 04/01/2021 14:33

Try living in Scotland under her useless government and you will soon change your mind

CrotchBurn · 04/01/2021 14:33

She has no ideas. She is an angry woman with an obsession.

CrotchBurn · 04/01/2021 14:34

Shes basically Nigel Farage. Hes a good speaker too.

Viviennemary · 04/01/2021 14:34

Maybe. But in a country a lot further away than Scotland.
