Just listening to her statement to the Scottish Parliament. I don’t want to debate her wider politics or the question of Scottish independence because that’s for the Scots to decide.
I’m just so impressed by her leadership and how clear and concise she is. There’s no waffle, no bluster. She’s just said Scotland is 4wks behind London so the time to act is now before they’re in the same position.

Her manner is just so factual and informative and if I was Scottish or lived in Scotland whether I agreed with her SNP politics or not, I’d be very glad she was my FM. She makes BJ look like an uneducated idiot who is neither responsible nor has the balls to take decisions before the effects are smacking him on the face.

@Thebestwaytoscareatory he's been released pending further investigation, not been released without charge, completely different things.
This has been brewing for ages, what I'd like to know is why did police Scotland only arrest him AFTER she resigned and a new FM was in place. I don't think the SNP are the only ones that need investigating here

You'd like to think that if the misuse of £600k by a political party warrants a police investigation that £13 billion in covid fraud, or £10-18 billion of dodgy covid contract awards, or claiming if you vote for brexit we'll give £350m per week to the NHS, would also be worthy of looking into, yet I can't see anything about an investigation into those areas.

Would Police Scotland have jurisdiction over these matters? I don't think the 350 million bollocks amounts to a crime, sadly, and legal action has already been tried and failed over that one, but the other things you mention.

Well no, I wasn't suggesting Police Scotland should look into those things, just that I find it interesting that the misuse of party donations within the party the funds were donated to is worthy of a criminal investigation but all the other fraud/corruption allegations made against all political parties are not (covid fraud, covid contracts, cash4access, expenses scandals, lobbying / 2nd job conflicts of interests, dodgy loans, cash4peerages, etc, etc, etc).

It just shows how much higher standards are in Scotland than the rUK.

Well to be correct he's been 'released without charge, pending further investigation' so the investigation is still on going but Peter Mundell faces no charges at this time and is under no obligation to return to the police for the offence he was arrested for, although may face different charges at a later date.

Innocent until proven guilty and all that (unless you don't like the person obvs).

If that's the point you were making, I agree wrt the covid fraud and dodgy contracts.
