To ask if you sniff your leggings?

We have been watching an old ‘Live at the Apollo’ hosted by Sarah Millican where she talks of ‘sniffing her leggings’ to see if she can get another day’s use out of them.

If you’d rather not comment, feel free just to vote below!

YABU - yes I sniff my leggings
YANBU - no I do not.

leggings shouldn't ever be worn atall they are not trousers and defo not forgiving it's quite jank when you go to the shop for dinner to be greeted by women with gunts hoofs and drawers glaring through the shit fabric get a pair of Jean's on for god sake

BackforGood · 03/01/2021 18:02

Totally agree with Bluntness on this thread.

Whoever wrote this
Everything goes in the washing basket at night! I would not put on stinky clothes seems to be confused.

Nobody on this thread is suggesting putting on stinky clothes. However, that is a world away from never wearing clothes more than once, and the terrible washing loads that must create.

exaltedwombat · 03/01/2021 18:05

Throw your knickers at the ceiling. If they come down, good for another week.

CorvusPurpureus · 03/01/2021 18:11

I tend to wear them as pyjamas & then take the dogs for a walk in the morning. Pootle about a bit WFH.

Then I swim in the afternoon (backyard pool so not inflicting my whiff on anyone not family), shower, & change into fresh leggings/yoga pants.

By this point the discards have done 20 hours or so, so I reckon they've earned a wash along with the knickers, bra & tshirt I was wearing them with.

Disclaimer: lockdown rules. Normally I'd only wear them for weekend slobbing, anyway.

One thing I don't do is sniff & put away - that's how you get moths! Wear for a second day or wash, either is fine, but don't put worn clothes back in the wardrobe.

1forAll74 · 03/01/2021 18:12

NO, I have actually worn the same pair of dark grey leggings for several days now, I am painting some walls and doors, and just sling these on everyday till I finish my paint jobs,, and not even got any paint on them this time !

Meowchickameowmeow · 03/01/2021 18:13

I don't wear legging they're hideous. I don't sniff any of my clothes to see if I can wear them again, that's fucking gross.

Ddot · 03/01/2021 18:22

I'm not that flexable anymore
😉

Thefaceofboe · 03/01/2021 18:38

Never something I have ever done..I'd only wear leggings once then wash them. Pretty rank sniffing them

I bet you don’t fart or shit either?

Stinkywizzleteets · 03/01/2021 18:40

Am I the only one whose knees go saggy on leggings within an hour? A second day would be impossible without them turning into hammer pants

MuseumGardens · 03/01/2021 18:42

That used to happen to me in the 80s but not now they've got lycra in. Mine are only primark

Partayyyyy · 03/01/2021 19:23

wash your noony and your gross leggings and knickers every day your ment to be a woman better still sling those nasty things in the bin and next time in primark dont get anymore they are jankkkkk Jean's skirt joggers anything just not fucking leggings

sarralim · 03/01/2021 19:33

Amen to that. It's still pretty interesting that most people don't seem at all concerned about living as sustainably as they can. Just watched Greta Thunberg's documentary on BBC; it's heartbreaking to see how utterly fed up she is of trying to lead the way on climate change. But since people are clearly more worried about smelling their own bodies, then about how many plastic microfibres they wash out to sea with every washing cycle, then it's no wonder that she feels lonely. Because she really is.

blondiepigtails · 03/01/2021 19:45

Stop using soap or shower gel. Wash yourself with a microfibre bodycloth. Pits and vag will smell a lot less. Less need for deodorant etc. Your vag will thank you. It is a leap of faith but you won’t go back to products! I have clean undies everyday. Other clothes changed as needed

PMcGintysGoat · 03/01/2021 19:53

Good grief, no wonder the planet is on its knees.

Assuming you wear pants and wash regularly why would you need to wash leggings every day?

TinselTinsel · 03/01/2021 20:01

I just came to read the comments for a laugh.

Only ever used the sniff test on my ex's clothes dropped on the floor but after a while I figured if he couldn't be bothered to put them in the laundry basket , I couldn't be bothered taking them to the washing machine so put them back in his wardrobe without sniffing them so if he wore dirty clothes it was his own fault .

Dudette87 · 03/01/2021 20:04

I sniff everything.... Armpit area of tops or dresses, crotch area of leggings, underbust of my bras.

I do enough fecking laundry as it is, I don't want to be washing my clothes when they're basically clean Grin

If you're using noony, you're definitely less of a woman than I am, despite my leggings collection.
AccidentallyOnPurpose · 03/01/2021 20:23

@HeadIsFucked

I sniff most top half things and loose trousers Leggings are far to close to the fan to be worn again. Leggjngs, socks, knickers no sniffing just get washed

Oddly (maybe?) its tops I wont rewear! Always wash. Not sure why really.

Same, but that's because they ALWAYS smell even if just a bit.

Only top items that I can rewear are loose/baggy jumpers, cardies, hoodies etc.

Jeans can last ages. Leggings I get 2/3 days out of them.

Diverseduvet · 03/01/2021 20:33

Parrrrty you sound really aggressive and unpleasant.

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 03/01/2021 20:38

Parrrrty you sound really aggressive and unpleasant.

Not to mention about 12. Noony? Really? You're meant to be a woman, not a child.

Seraphinesupport · 03/01/2021 20:38

I sniff everything but underwear which obviously gets washed after every use but tops and trousers I sniff to see if any smell at all, not even necessarily bad smells but perfume can make clothing smelly as well

You must be about 12 years old. And if not, you sound and write like one.
