To ask if you sniff your leggings?

We have been watching an old ‘Live at the Apollo’ hosted by Sarah Millican where she talks of ‘sniffing her leggings’ to see if she can get another day’s use out of them.

If you’d rather not comment, feel free just to vote below!

YABU - yes I sniff my leggings
YANBU - no I do not.

A friend was selling off her kids old clothes on ebay and someone contacted her to ask if the tights she was selling had been washed. My innocent friend was so confused saying "Why would I not wash before selling?" I had to point out that they were hoping she hadn't washed them! Envy

I bought a beautiful silk top off ebay, real bargain.
Oh my god did that thing stink.
I opened the bag and gagged.
Straight to the dry cleaners it went with a profound apology.
Hang it on the line to get the stink off. I know your not going to dry clean because its expensive but come on you stinky cow.
It wasnt even sweat smell, more dirty hair and oh I'm not sure just really really nasty

Boomer84 · 04/01/2021 21:59

Yep I’m the same with all clothes. Why wash it if it’s not dirty. I’d like to think I’m helping the environment etc etc but it’s really cuz I work full time and don’t wanna spend me evenings washing/drying/ironing.
My son caught me sniffing my top the other day and thought I was bat shit crazy 😂

Twillow · 04/01/2021 22:03

If clothes don't have obvious dirt on them, then the sniff test is the obvious thing to do rather than washing everything to death after one wear.

Show me someone that honestly changes their leggins every day in this day and corona age and I'll show you a liar

Roll out of bed get dressed in what ever is about.

MiddlesexGirl · 04/01/2021 23:25

Corona hasn't made any difference to how often I wash clothes. And yes, leggings tend to be washed after one wear. They're similar to tights in my view. I'd only not wash after one wear if they'd only be on a couple of hours rather than a full day.

For all the people that have mentioned about natural deodorant i use the below and its great. Annoyingly I can't get it on a subscription like I do the other products they sell, but it's usually delivered next day.

I never wear leggings but as has been said, they are similar to thicker tights. I do wear tights but always wear a fresh pair every day. Just because you do not wear clean leggings, daily, does not mean other people are telling lies. It’s about standards.

Janegrey333 · 05/01/2021 11:14

I’m amazed that people are lining up to say they don’t wear clean clothes every day.

Spidey66 · 05/01/2021 11:15

Leggings would be changed daily, so not sniffed. Jeans would last 2-3 days between washing.....probably because they're not as close fitting so less sweaty etc.

Different definitions of clean. I don't consider leggings necessarily unclean after one day. I wore some yesterday which got covered in mud so obviously they were dirty.

Otherwise one wear doesn't make them dirty right away. They aren't touching my skin anywhere other than my legs and my legs aren't that sweaty!

That's totally unnecessary.

Your immunity needs a bit of muck

luckylavender · 05/01/2021 12:17

Always. And I only wear them in the house.

Ddot · 05/01/2021 12:51

Still think my joke was hilarious
(I'm not that flexible) get it
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh I give up

Partayyyyy · 05/01/2021 20:09

I chose the utterly stupid word noony on here as people who are legging wearers are also the variety to use such idiotic words most likely the same bunch as the tesco PJ crew Grin

Partayyyyy · 05/01/2021 20:18

@Ddot

I like leggings but only with long top or dress. After a certain age, not a good look to flash the snatch. Exception ... exercise or if your as firm as a rock.
totally spot on response well put Smile
