To ask if you sniff your leggings?

We have been watching an old ‘Live at the Apollo’ hosted by Sarah Millican where she talks of ‘sniffing her leggings’ to see if she can get another day’s use out of them.

I do this with all my clothing. If it has a hint of a smell then I wash it. It's more ecologically friendly, only knickers get washed every day. If I'm going somewhere nicer though I'll wear clean clothes and save my dirtier stuff for home and stuff . If I wear clothes out to a restaurant for a few hours I hang them back up too.

Most people shower every day, work in jobs that require little physical effort and wear deodorant, how dirty do you think you get in one day that something that just touches your skin needs washing after 12hrs.

I don't wear leggings but if I did I'd wear them more than once. I don't know why they would smell anyway as I wear pants and don't have a sweaty minge.

Forgot to mention I wear washable pant liners every day too so 2 layers

No - I just wear clean ones everyday.

yeah I do sniff them because they are in that strange in between land.. not tights which are clearly underwear and need to be changed every day... but not trousers which you'd probably get a couple of days use out of... they are still quite tight so absorb more body odours.. so I think they are play by ear/nose items... if I've been hiking or running etc I dont bother sniffing them I know im not gonna get another days wear from them! But if I've had a pretty sedate day I'd sniff them yeah lol.. no point washing things just for the sake of it

I’ve had jeans for years that I never washed once. Ever. They loose their goodness.

I sniff everything. Why ruin the planet if it's not dirty? Pretty much the only thing I do change everyday is my pants, socks usually get a few days wear out of them.

I wear leggings more than once and they definitely don't smell! If they did my autistic dd with her very sensitive nose wouldn't come near me.

I wouldn’t sniff them, but they’re close fitting and practically an extra knicker layer so wouldn’t wear them twice!

I sniff all my clothes just in case I put them away instead in the washing basket
I do this because once I’d worn a top to work on Monday very hot day..wore the top on Thursday and I bloody stank I didn’t realise I raised my arm at work.. fuck I nearly died
I stayed away from everyone I used a lot if deodorant

Yeah I sniff test them! I don't believe in washing everything to death and try and get as much wear as possible out of clothes

Ditto. Though I do find leggings tend to get smelly quicker than other trousers, being so tight to the crotch.

no i never wear leggings more than one day.. i think the ONLY time i dont really care so much is when i've been on my period and i've worn a maxi pad and 2 pairs of knickers and not done anything other than sit on the sofa all day.

I do. I shower daily and wear clean under wear daily, I also don’t really sweat. I don’t need to wash them after every wear any more than I need to wash trousers or jeans after wearing them once, the most they smell of is my body lotion. I usually wear my leggings for two days. Maybe even three.

Yep, I sniff my clothes and also my dc’s clothes - armpits, crotches - the lot! Both clean and used clothes are generally left lying around their rooms in a jumbled mess so I have to use the sniff test to determine whether it needs washing or not.
Funnily enough I can never tell whether dh’s clothes are used or not as he doesn’t really sweat/smell!

I'm with the people who sniff everything except pants and socks/stockings

People that wear them in the house but might have people come round?

Do people still wash things everyday regardless? No wonder the planets fucked. What do you think would happen if you wore them.....for two days?

I’m so glad of this thread, I could never bring myself to have a smelly crotch conversation in real life but pleased to see acknowledgement that it happens.

Sniff t-shirts but not leggings.
