To ask if you sniff your leggings?

We have been watching an old ‘Live at the Apollo’ hosted by Sarah Millican where she talks of ‘sniffing her leggings’ to see if she can get another day’s use out of them.

If you’d rather not comment, feel free just to vote below!

YABU - yes I sniff my leggings
YANBU - no I do not.

Gross. I can smell the odours wafting from this thread.

HighHeelBoots · 02/01/2021 23:45

I sniff most top half things and loose trousers
Leggings are far to close to the fan to be worn again. Leggjngs, socks, knickers no sniffing just get washed

XenoBitch · 02/01/2021 23:46

I do. And when my depression is bad, I don't even do that. Fester in the same pair for days regardless of stench. All self care goes out the window.

Biancadelrioisback · 02/01/2021 23:49

Tbf, some people are naturally smelly.

There are those who can wear things over and over again and they don't smell bad.

To the poster who asked, my bra stank more than I realised at first so I had to take it off and hide it in my handbag. The longer I sat at my desk the more I could smell it.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 02/01/2021 23:50

It's bit about having lots of pairs, it's about reducing all the unnecessary washing where possible. Wool tops etc rarely get washed here but I wear a top underneath them and air them and they don't smell.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 02/01/2021 23:58

Not about having lots of pairs (not bit)

I guess you’ve the same issue with trousers and jeans and have health issues down there?
Justgorgeous · 03/01/2021 00:09

Everything goes in the washing basket at night! I would not put on stinky clothes

nexus63 · 03/01/2021 00:25

i have never worn leggings, i wear jogging trousers to go out, i only go out once or twice a week for maybe an hour, i spray them with fabreeze and hang outside, always clean undies and socks everyday, i live in pjs and t-shirts everyday, being on my own i only have to do a washing twice a week....and yes i do sniff...just in case

Thefeep · 03/01/2021 00:30

I don’t wear leggings, not really got the build for them but I’d never wear them more than once the same as I wouldn’t wear tights More than once 🤢

HighHeelBoots · 03/01/2021 08:50

Bluntness100
I have a lovely healthy fanjo thanks. I often wear trousers and jeans mors than once
If you want to wear knickers, leggings, tights for a week crack on Grin 🤢

SuperCaliFragalistic · 03/01/2021 08:57

I would normally wash them after every wear but sometimes if they've only been on for a few hours I will wear again. Sniff test required in this case.

DuchessofDerbyshire · 03/01/2021 09:17

@Gingerbreadchoc Given this was a comedy show with SM don't you think perhaps she was being a tad ironic- and not meant to be taken at face (or fanny) value?

Comics put all kinds of stuff in their sketches to wind up the audience and it doesn't mean it's Real Life.

There is a huge difference between tights, and leggings, and knickers.

I wear tights once because the feet of them get sweaty.

I don't wash jeans after 1 wear because I don't wear the kind that are so tight they are like a thong.

Reading this thread has actually depressed me.
It's sad that so many women (presumably younger women) are obsessed with thinking they 'smell'.

Unless you are dripping with sweat, it's just your underarms that might whiff and an antiperspirant should sort that out.
I will wash tops that smell of that if I'm hanging them in the wardrobe, because if they contain wool, moths are attracted to perfume and human 'smell' [not odour!]

In all honesty, if you wear cotton knickers - and shower every day or twice a day- why do you think the gussets of your clothes will smell?

Are you the sort who think your vaginas smell nasty and spray products down there to cover up the 'smell'?

How odd. You think your leggings are like your knickers but your jeans aren’t? Do you wear very loose low crotch jeans and trousers?
toocold54 · 03/01/2021 10:23

My leggings have never smelt after only one day of wearing them but I often need to wash them due to dogs or getting them physically dirty.

Either people are just naturally very smelly or they are too tight/too thin leggings.
You get ones that are like trousers and then you get ones that are more like tights.

For those who would wash them every day would you wash your work trousers every day too?

Maybe I've been around too long. But there's a certain type of poster - the sort often found posting strange reviews on the M&S lingerie pages - who drops by this site periodically to indulge their weird fetishes at members' expense.

Surprised this thread's still here this morning, but spectacularly unsurprised that the OP isn't ...

I am here but do find your comments a little strange. From the posts you’ve made on this thread, it would appear you are uncomfortable with what is being discussed, which makes me wonder why you keep coming back! Confused

During the last lockdown I would wear the same leggings and hoodie for a week unless they got stained in any way. I was at home furloughed so spent a lot of time sat down watching Netflix, didn't involve much physical exertion Grin

Jimdandy · 03/01/2021 17:29

No I don’t sniff my leggings.

We all wear full clean clothes everyday. I know it’s not good for the environment but I’ve just always done it and same for my kids. Though to be fair we’re very outdoorsy and they usually end up dirty

Ilovegreentomatoes · 03/01/2021 17:41

Agreed. This is a weird thing to post about op I do think these kind of subject matters do encourage a response that for some sad person would give them a sexual kick.Ppl do tend to over share on here without knowing If the poster is legit.

Ilovegreentomatoes · 03/01/2021 17:43

Kind of like the posters that pop up every now and then with the "Hey how often do you shave down there" question.

HeadIsFucked · 03/01/2021 17:44

...yes Blush

HeadIsFucked · 03/01/2021 17:45

As for the wider convo. Jeans wear more than once assuming clean, same with leggings. NOT knickers. I don't wear tights often enough to ever rewear really.

Oddly (maybe?) its tops I wont rewear! Always wash. Not sure why really.
