To ask if you sniff your leggings?

We have been watching an old ‘Live at the Apollo’ hosted by Sarah Millican where she talks of ‘sniffing her leggings’ to see if she can get another day’s use out of them.

YABU - yes I sniff my leggings
YANBU - no I do not.

No, they just go in the wash! I honestly didn't know legging-sniffing was a thing!

I sniff on an emergency to see if I can get away with it, but usually get one day only. This is since start of menopause. I also wear 2 pairs of knickers everyday to keep fresh.

Everything gets the sniff test (minus underwear, that obvs gets washed after one wear, I have standards people, ha). I couldn't keep up with the washing if we only wore things after one wash! If me or DP aren't sure, one of us will do a double sniff

To the people who feel sick at the thought of wearing leggings more than one day, maybe our fannies just aren’t as smelly as yours

I sniff test all clothes- since I moved to an eco-deodorant I have to wash clothes a lot more. I'm starting to wander if it wasn't economical after all.

is your natural scent that offensive you feel sick at the thought of sniffing worn clothes? that’s not normal, have you been to the GP?

What possible motivation could any OP have for asking a bunch of women to air their (worn) laundry for their titillation?

I sniff leggings/ track pants/ t shirts after every wear to decide if they need washed or not. I wear jeans for ages before washing so they sometimes get sniffed too

Leggings, unlikely. Mostly because day 2 they have baggy knees and a very low probability of being stain free thanks to 2 year old.

If I've worn leggings for a morning then changed into something smarter or specific gym wear, then maybe. Rare to survive a day's worth of encounters with DC's sticky fingers though...

No wonder public transports are so rank if people wear dirty clothes on a regular basis. You get used to smells, so by the time you smell your own, you can imagine how pleasant it must be for others. Yuk.

I'm a bit surprised that most people on this thread wear leggings more than once. It's never occurred to me to do that, if I've just worn them for an hour or two I'll wear them again for another short time but I've always figured if you need to sniff test an item then it probably needs washing. Do the people who sniff test leggings do the same with tights?

I don't think it really adds to washing. Items worn just once just need a quick wash.

No! They're far too close to your skin to wear again!

I turn my knickers inside out on the third day and get a couple more days outta 'em....

I usually don't need to sniff, I can tell by how baggy the leggings have gone if they've been worn a few days. We do tend to wash our clothes far too often, IMHO.
Oh and people looking at natural deodorants, my go to is the Natural Deodorant company.

Even if they’ve just been washed they can have a damp smell. I think I do it out of habit more than anything as I used to be a bit paranoid about smelling when I was younger.
