To ask if you sniff your leggings?

We have been watching an old ‘Live at the Apollo’ hosted by Sarah Millican where she talks of ‘sniffing her leggings’ to see if she can get another day’s use out of them.

YABU - yes I sniff my leggings

Never something I have ever done..I'd only wear leggings once then wash them. Pretty rank sniffing them 🤮

I remember reading a book that was free with a magazine about ten years ago, I'm pretty sure it was called I heart (or love) New York. The girl in it went to live in New York and they didn't wash clothes at all apart from very rarely! They febreezed the hell out of everything!

I do that although I often can't get a second day out of them.

You really think it’s rank and worthy of a vomiting emoji to sniff your own leggings? How precious you sound! I consider myself a very clean, hygienic person but I certainly don’t have a problem with people sniffing their clothes to see if they can get another wear.

I don't habitually sniff leggings but I don't really get how they can smell of 'stale vag'

Yep, I sniff everything. If I'm not sure, I get partner to double-sniff.

You know she means the crotch! It’s not like sniffing a jumper.

How bad does it get where it’s nauseating to sniff your own clothes? I would speak to a gp if you’ve not done so already. That shouldn’t be happening.

I cant imagine not sniffing clothes to check if they're dirty. I too find it astonishing that there are women who never sniff the crotch of their own leggings to see if they need a wash.

No I do not.
Decision to wear them or not rests on how many days I've worn them - I will only wear leggings two days as they go completely out of shape otherwise. Obviously if they're visibly dirty they go straight in the wash bin after one wear.

I'm so gob smacked by so many people washing everything after one wear

Clean pair every day the same as all my clothes.

All your clothes? Jeans and jumpers? This is incredibly wasteful and environmentally unfriendly.

Aside from underwear, socks, tops (which sometimes get 2 wears), towels and bedding I'll sniff anything of mine to see if it can be worn again. Is that gross or sensible?

I've got to say, staying inside for a good 75% of this year means I'm rewearing a lot more stuff than usual, partly because I'm not getting remotely dirty. I wear work out clothes if I go for a run, shower - then happy to put 2nd wear clothes back on cos I've not even broke a slight sweat in them or left the house. Only so much dirt you can pick up with your arse permanently parked on the sofa.

Aha yes to the leggings sniff test. Did ome today actually. Glad to hear others do the same .
I dont see it as any different to checking armpit area on tops really.

Of course I sniff them. I rewear leggings, sweatshirts etc. In lockdown with not really going out it’s absolutely fine to wear things more than once.

I would imagine near the laundry basket would work best, then you can chuck them in when they fail.

If wearing to the gym then they only get worn once, wearing at home I might wear them for 2 days if they pass the sniff test though I only really wear them for half the day as I take them off as soon as I get home and put yoga pants or pj bottoms on.
