Pajama bottoms with backside seams are unhygenic

Fangtiger · 18/12/2020 11:10

Am I the only person who has a problem with the backside seam on pajama bottoms? The seam goes up my bum so I end up wearing night time knickers underneath to stop that happening and to stop having to wash my pjs every day. Do pj bottoms without a backside seam exist? Someone told me M&S had some, but can't find them.

Turn them inside out. Tip there from my daughter who's ASD and hates seams

speakout · 18/12/2020 11:26

Yes your pjs are too tight- bigger size.

I would hate to wear knickers with my pjs, but I have a clean pair of pjs every night.

Meowchickameowmeow · 18/12/2020 11:27

Even if it's touching your arsehole it doesn't make the seam unhygienic. Either buy a bigger size, wash them after every wear or sleep without.
Personally, I find pyjamas restrictive and uncomfortable and just sleep in a pair of knickers.

LongPauseNoAnswer · 18/12/2020 11:29

What have I just read Confused Wear pants with or without the bottoms. People are so weird Grin

PizzaForOne · 18/12/2020 11:30

This is such a strange thread.

You wouldn't wear undies normally?
They ride up often?
Even if they did - you don't clean yourself up sufficiently?

Gardeniaofdelights · 18/12/2020 11:31

If you aren’t wearing pants with them you need to wash your jammies daily Envy

Boulshired · 18/12/2020 11:31

Trying to workout where the seam would go, it wouldn’t be my backside that would concern me regarding hygiene.

Timeforabiscuit · 18/12/2020 11:32

Pants on while sleeping??? I have some questions.. do you change with day time/night time pants?

I'd wear pants during the day if I was wearing pyjamas on a slovenly Saturday. But otherwise why would you wear pants at night apart from during your period??? What hygiene issues?

winterbabythistime · 18/12/2020 11:33

They're definitely too small...

strawbmilk · 18/12/2020 11:33

I wear pants.

If everyone in your household needs new jammie bottoms each night it's a huge amount of washing and drying! 28 pairs of jammie bottoms washed a week 😫

Chocolate4me · 18/12/2020 11:33

My fanny has been missing out all these years of being able to breathe 😂😂😂

bananaboats · 18/12/2020 11:35

I never wear pants with pjs but I also rarely have an issue with them going up my bum so agree size may be the issue!

babbaloushka · 18/12/2020 11:35

My gyn said pants at night cause increased risk of UTIs and Thrush. I always let mine air out overnight, otherwise it feels all sweaty.

Smallsteps88 · 18/12/2020 11:37

You’ve got a hungry bum OP Grin

FindHungrySamurai · 18/12/2020 11:38

I’m also getting deluged with the ads for Christmas long johns with unbuttoning arse-flaps. I suspect the OP of being in league with them.

goopsoup · 18/12/2020 11:39

The only times I've had an issue with a wedgie is when pyjama bottoms are too tight. Also, sleep hygiene advice is you should not sleep in anything tight, so if no pants works for you then that's fine. I personally do wear pants, so I can wear my pyjamas for a few days.

There is even advice to sleep naked as it's much for temperature control for falling and staying asleep.

MrsMiaWallis · 18/12/2020 11:39

My arse is clean so this isn't an issue. If I went to bed with a dirty arse and a pair of pjs I would wash them the next day. Also, they are too small OP

DontStopThinkingAboutTomorrow · 18/12/2020 11:40

@SkeletorAttack

Wait a minute, are people wearing PJ bottoms without underwear?!

Boak Envy

Why the face? I go commando in PJs but they get changed daily.
Bluntness100 · 18/12/2020 11:40

If your pyjamas give you a wedgie then you’re wearing the wrong size defo. And yes it is unhygienic.

Fangtiger · 18/12/2020 11:41

No, my pj bottoms are not too tight, in fact I get bigger sizes than I need. I know wearing knickers solves the problem but I hate wearing them 24/7 (I obviously change into clean night time knickers for bed). I remember mens pj bottoms didn't have seams in the old days and just wonder why no one sells them like that any more

I can’t sleep without knickers on otherwise I feel like I might wet the bed! I’ve no idea why.

I wear pjs with pants because it’s not the back wedgie I’m worried about. It’s the front wedgie. And that I cannot stand.

GrumblyMumblyisnotJumbly · 18/12/2020 11:45

Why don't you wear a nightie? Nothing for your bum to eat and a well oxygenated fanny.

RMRM · 18/12/2020 11:46

Omg, my mum was obsessed with our fannies being allowed to breathe as well. It must have been th received wisdom of the time. I always wear pants, my poor fanny is always gasping.
