Pajama bottoms with backside seams are unhygenic

Am I the only person who has a problem with the backside seam on pajama bottoms? The seam goes up my bum so I end up wearing night time knickers underneath to stop that happening and to stop having to wash my pjs every day. Do pj bottoms without a backside seam exist? Someone told me M&S had some, but can't find them.

@MiddlesexGirl

My gyn said pants at night cause increased risk of UTIs and Thrush

This. It's not rocket science and it's not an old wives tale. Just because it doesn't happen to you doesn't stop it from being scientific fact.

Firmly in the nightie (camisole/slip/lingerie type) and no knickers camp. I feel comfy - good for all temperatures, sexy if required and hygienic.

I'd be interested in reading the official studies which have prompted you to state this is scientific fact. Please share a link as I'm not able to find peer reviewed studies myself.

Totally agree Grin i wear knickers under them too.. sometimes i take the pjs off and just leave knickers on.... if i have no knickers clean as they're all drying after being washed (lol) then i will wear pjs to bed but always clean pair next night

The only thing making this thread eird is that people actually take it seriously, start arguments with eachother and get nasty and judgemental 😂 it's just a lighthearted thread about dirty pants for god sake hahaa you dont have to waste your time commenting

I wear nighties.

Sparrowfeeder · 31/01/2021 00:53

I always wear knickers under pjs so it’s not an issue!

Sparrowfeeder · 31/01/2021 00:56

Oh and at 38 I have never had thrush or a UTI...

I am still really shocked people wear pjs without undies! I only learnt this on MN...

Sparrowfeeder · 31/01/2021 01:00

Oh and I wear the same knickers I wore in the daytime, not an issue!

LizFlowers · 31/01/2021 01:02

Mine tend to be loose so not a problem. However I wear loose cotton knickers underneath pyjamas - thought most people did. If you wore them next to your skin all night (and maybe part of the morning depending on circumstances), you'd have to change them every day. Mine usually do a couple of days.

DragonPoop · 31/01/2021 01:03

Size up on the bottoms by one or two sizes! Smile

@AldiAisleofCrap

Wearing underwear under pjs is really unhygienic, surely everyone wears a clean pair of pjs every night?
Nope! I change mine weekly, undies underneath keep it clean. I don’t really sweat much.

@babbaloushka

My gyn said pants at night cause increased risk of UTIs and Thrush. I always let mine air out overnight, otherwise it feels all sweaty.
Not if they are loose fitting cotton ones, only if they are tight. The op's pyjama pants are obviously too tight.

What a strange conversation to have with a gynaecologist.

You bumped a 6-week-old thread just for that?
starrynight21 · 31/01/2021 01:56

I don't think there is such a thing as pj's with no back seam. The shape of them means that they have to have one. If you don't like it, just wear a night shirt .

Pyewhacket · 31/01/2021 02:49

I don’t wear anything in bed , even in winter. Never have.

Ericaequites · 31/01/2021 02:54

Loose all cotton white or pale knickers are most hygienic. I wear this sort, and have had very few problems.
