Pajama bottoms with backside seams are unhygenic

Fangtiger · 18/12/2020 11:10

Am I the only person who has a problem with the backside seam on pajama bottoms? The seam goes up my bum so I end up wearing night time knickers underneath to stop that happening and to stop having to wash my pjs every day. Do pj bottoms without a backside seam exist? Someone told me M&S had some, but can't find them.

I don’t wear underwear in bed. I find it really uncomfortable. I have a clean pair of pjs every night though.

TheQueef · 18/12/2020 13:23

All you nutters saying fannies don't breathe....I've news for you.
Mine can fucking sing.

ChocolateCherrybomb · 18/12/2020 13:24

@babbaloushka

My gyn said pants at night cause increased risk of UTIs and Thrush. I always let mine air out overnight, otherwise it feels all sweaty.
Air it out?

OMG, what position do you have to sleep in to achieve that?

Skittlebug · 18/12/2020 13:24

@ChocolateCherrybomb I'm weak Xmas Grin and whoever's gynae said it increased frequency thrush/uti... really? I can't believe that... I have to wear knickers or I get flap burn from my fat thighs/beef curtains, but conversely, I've never been a frequent sufferer of thrush/uti's Xmas Hmm

Firstly, your pj’s are too small. Secondly, if you wear them without knickers, you put them in the wash in the morning. Otherwise it’s the same as wearing your knickers two days in a row. If you wear knickers, then you can go two/three days without washing them

crumpledlinens · 18/12/2020 13:27

@MandosHatHair hang on, wait, you wash your pyjamas EVERY DAY?
🤯

FangsForTheMemory · 18/12/2020 13:29

I can't bear wearing pjs, I feel so constricted in them. I'm a bed-wriggler and would always end up with them digging into my [censored]. Nightdresses forever!

goopsoup · 18/12/2020 13:30

ang on, wait, you wash your pyjamas EVERY DAY?

Some ppl wash their towels after every use. Cray cray.

WotWouldCJDo · 18/12/2020 13:30

I thought this thread was going to be about the ads I keep seeing on MN for ladies pyjamas with a rear 'hatch' like an old cowboy's long johns.

Merename · 18/12/2020 13:30

It is fascinating how frequently these pants/no pants threads come up!

Cokearama · 18/12/2020 13:33

My mum was the opposite. She always made us wear pants in bed with our nighties, something to do with worms.

I did too. The space thing and the posing of the models is an horrendous combination. 🤢
Hotchocolatewithcream · 18/12/2020 13:38

This thread is eye opening reading.
I pretty much never wear underwear myself regardless of what I’m wearing 🙊

SomeoneInTheLaaaaaounge · 18/12/2020 13:39

I’m getting thrush just reading this thread.

Pjs & pants oh no no no no no no

Janegrey333 · 18/12/2020 13:39

I thought they were “onesies”rather than pyjamas?
Even more awful...

cheesemongery · 18/12/2020 13:40

I always wear pjs without underwear - you need to have some fanny breather space - otherwise thrush etc are rife surely?

it's not like I wear em to shops n school, prob wash every other day - it's not like am scratching me arse in them.

Beat me too it!

Mmm hot festering space, why not add some scuba kit too :/

BatshitCrazyWoman · 18/12/2020 13:42

I think it's weird to wear any kind of clothes to bed, let alone PJs and knickers!

Waspnest · 18/12/2020 13:43

I have a Onesie with a zip round the arse that means you can go to the loo without taking the whole thing off. It is brilliant for camping.

Divebar · 18/12/2020 13:45

You’re wearing knickers AND PJs? It must be a sweat fest in there.

notreallybotheredaboutausernam · 18/12/2020 13:47

If you're wearing knickers under your PJs, why do you have to wash them every 2/3 days? Why are people's PJ bottoms getting so dirty? Do you sweat excessively, or roll around in the mud in your pajamas?
AldiAisleofCrap · 18/12/2020 13:50

Wearing underwear under pjs is really unhygienic, surely everyone wears a clean pair of pjs every night?

SoupDragon · 18/12/2020 13:52

Wearing underwear under pjs is really unhygienic

How?

Waspnest · 18/12/2020 13:53

Wearing underwear under pjs is really unhygienic

Yes I'd really like to know why as well.

NameChange84 · 18/12/2020 13:54

Always have worn underwear with PJs.

Remember discovering that a friend and her sisters didn’t at a sleepover and found it really grim that they had their PJs next to their bum. No idea why it grossed me out but I couldn’t bring myself to do the same. Came home and told my Mum and she said “urgh only dirty people do that!” Blush
