Quite fancied a pair of the tiny ankle uggs this winter, my 17 year old sister tells me they are so 2012!!😂

Your 12 year old sister is right.

DramaAlpaca · 27/09/2020 19:56

God no, hideous things.

TheDuchessofMalfy · 27/09/2020 19:56

It’s a matter of personal taste surely!

My understanding is they are very comfortable but also lack support, as they are basically slippers. So not terribly good for your feet.

Also not much good if it’s wet out.

But I don’t mind the look of them, although I don’t have any.

DipSwimSwoosh · 27/09/2020 19:57

Well they are very ugly and impractical. But I am buying a fake pair for a fiver to put on after open water swimming. So they have their place.

Sanch1 · 27/09/2020 19:58

I love mine! Don't wear them in the rain though 😂

EarlLeighIndamornin · 27/09/2020 19:58

Depends.

If you’re a size zero then knock yourself out (I say this a bitter overweight pudding).

SuzieQQQ · 27/09/2020 19:58

For home slippers yes. Anything else, no.

Lolapusht · 27/09/2020 19:59

I dislike Uggs intensely but have a gorgeous pair of Ugg clogs and also a pair of super gorgeous heeled ankle boots😃

JellyBert · 27/09/2020 19:59

I had about 3 pairs of Ugg’s when I was a teenager. I don’t see anyone wearing them now & I gave mine to charity! Personally I wouldn’t wear them but do what you like Grin

Louise000000 · 27/09/2020 20:00

I dont get the size zero thing?

One pair were bright hot pink!!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 27/09/2020 20:00

The worst shoes ever. They look so tacky.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 27/09/2020 20:01

I have some - DP insisted he buy them for me as his mum always loved them HmmConfused

I have to confess they are super cosy so I wear them when I’m WFH to save me putting the heating on Grin

I did wear them outside once on the school run and one of my friends DD said “why have you got your slippers on outside” and I realised it’s not a good look!

Igotthemheavyboobs · 27/09/2020 20:01

YABU!! But only because they are mega expensive and don't give your ankles enough support. You see these girls wearing them all folded in at the inner part of the ankle, walking basically on the side of their feet.

They look nice (I think) but save your wallet and your joints!!

DariaMorgendorffer · 27/09/2020 20:01

I just bought a pair .... haven't owned uggs in about 20 years, but they are so warm! They were on sale. I think I'll be glad of them if meeting friends for socially distanced outdoor coffees in the depths of winter.

ForeverRedSkinhead · 27/09/2020 20:02

I used to wear them when we took the class out for trips , they were certainly warm and comfortable. This was in 2012 thoughSmile

Look , in all seriousness , if you like them you should buy them. Just beware though that if there is anything unusual about your gait (like a big toe that sticks up) , they'll perish really quickly and be a terrible waste of money.

TwoleftUggs · 27/09/2020 20:03

I love mine, so warm and comfortable. I have 2 pairs, the normal button ones which I wear as slippers and another much sturdier pair which I wear outdoors. But, I do feel like they are unfashionable now and I wouldn’t go anywhere further than the supermarket or similar in them these days. Both pairs are about 10 years old Blush

DrManhattan · 27/09/2020 20:03

Chavy

SparklesAllOver · 27/09/2020 20:03

I love them - as slippers only!

1Morewineplease · 27/09/2020 20:06

They look nice and warm but I gather they're impractical in bad weather.
I've also noticed that people don't seem to walk properly in them.
The usually dread their feet/don't pick their feet up.

InFiveMins · 27/09/2020 20:07

Really chavvy. They stopped being remotely nice-ish in 2012.

NannyPear · 27/09/2020 20:07

I had some when I was at uni, even though they were still not fashionable then, and they were so comfy I wore them a lot (much to my friends' horror). DH bought me a pair a couple of years ago because I thought fuck it, they are so warm and toasty and I think they look good with a pair of skinny jeans and a baggy jumper so I'm going to ask for them for xmas! Looking forward to getting them out again this year :D

BlueJava · 27/09/2020 20:07

Love them!!

user1471565182 · 27/09/2020 20:08

You can get some actually decent looking and functional winter boots for much cheaper than those. My mate says only people who think having a bouncer as a boyfriend is desirable wear uggs.

BabbleBee · 27/09/2020 20:08

I love mine! So warm and cosy, and they’ve never collapsed over.
