Quite fancied a pair of the tiny ankle uggs this winter, my 17 year old sister tells me they are so 2012!!😂
Opinions?
YABU : NAY, UGGS ARE AWFUL
YANBU: YAY, I LOVE MY UGGS AND THEY NEVER GO OUT OF FASHION

I love them but only as slippers in the house. Never wear them outside.

SBTLove · 27/09/2020 20:11

Look for a cruelty free alternative that doesn’t involve skinning young sheep so you can have fluffy overpriced boots, no thanks.

Dominicgoings · 27/09/2020 20:13

I like Ugg type boots but mainly because I have circulatory issues so they’re great in really cold weather. I tend to go for Rocket Dogs and only from TK Maxx. They definitely only last for one season though.

Plmoknijb123 · 27/09/2020 20:14

They are super warm and comfy, but they seem to generate a lot of negative opinions, so if you don’t have a thick skin I wouldn’t wear them outdoors

TheGrayChapter · 27/09/2020 20:15

I love my uggs. (I have 3 pairs Grin)

Don’t really wear them out out. more for pottering around the house and garden in, (stupid cold tiled flooring downstairs) Super warm and comfy.

Do not wear them in the rain even if you’ve waterproofed them.

Dc 1 has a pair and loves them for the same reason.

SunbathingDragon · 27/09/2020 20:15

They look awful but I fully intend on wearing them this winter as I suspect soon we will only be able to socialise outside and I get very cold!

lioncitygirl · 27/09/2020 20:15

I have a pair. I like them. Surely it’s personal preference. For me - practical and warm in the winter - I don’t rate/like how they look - I don’t care. It’s just practical and I’ve had a pair for the longest time.

HelloDaisy · 27/09/2020 20:17

I love mine but only as slippers. I wouldn’t ever wear them to go out anywhere.

Laiste · 27/09/2020 20:17

£5 a pair in Primarni Grin

I get a pair just for the school run for the cold months. (school run is just a 2 min walk there and back for me) and i'm afraid to say i chuck them at the end of each winter because they've had it by then.

Louise000000 · 27/09/2020 20:17

@user1471565182 my boyfriend is a bouncer actually....... That's decided then 😂

Only fakes collapse over.
I bought a pair of Uggs in 2010 - the knitted ones. 10yrs later and they still literally look as good as the day I bought them, they are pricey but excellent quality, really warm and cosy, very comfortable, good tread. They're great with leggings or jeans. I also own other types of boots for different purposes - wet weather, hiking etc

Tbh the fact people say "ooh they're not fashionable anymore" makes me more likely to embrace them. I'm confident enough to wear what I like whether they're deemed fashionable or not.

ParisianLady · 27/09/2020 20:18

They're perfect for indoors only as slippers. Never out of the house beyond taking the bins out.

Bananaman123 · 27/09/2020 20:18

The cheap knock offs look tacky, the real deal ones are comfy and cosy. Who cares if they are out of fashion, do you, stand out from the crowd an d be comfy

Cam2020 · 27/09/2020 20:18

They were never in fashion, they are slippers.

twilightcafe · 27/09/2020 20:18

They keep my feet toasty now I'm WFH for the foreseeable and the temperature has dropped.
Don't wear Uggs outside and they will keep looking good much longer. I've had my TK Maxx versions for 5 years and they go no further than the back door.

The cheap ones are awful....I had several before investing in a proper pair and have saved a fortune!
ShebaShimmyShake · 27/09/2020 20:19

I think they're dated now.

peakotter · 27/09/2020 20:19

Get a few pairs of super fluffy socks and a slightly oversized pair of nice boots. Fold the socks over the boot tops. Warm, washable waterproof and doesn’t look like a fashion statement.

Idontbelieveit12 · 27/09/2020 20:21

Nah I don’t fancy dead sheep on my feet

Jessbow · 27/09/2020 20:21

Second vote for Rocket Dog

MorganKitten · 27/09/2020 20:22

Meh

Ireolu · 27/09/2020 20:22

Was firmly in the ugh tacky camp until I bought a pair. I wear in the winter months to keep my feet warm. I don't care what people think as they are practical and comfortable.

CatBatCat · 27/09/2020 20:23

Love mine.

I wouldn't wear outside the house though.

Iwantacookie · 27/09/2020 20:24

Love my uggs I've worn them today. They are so cosy and comfy
I'm too old to care what people think of my footwear choice.

ballsdeep · 27/09/2020 20:24

I know numsnetters hate them but my uggs were the most comfortable things I've ever ever worn!
